I flashed the Perrin Stage 1 - 93 octane map and datalogged it. It shows some knock retard on one of my WOT pulls between 5-7k rpm. The values are 1.05 and 0.35. This is the only time this happened and I have no idea what it means. i logged for about 10 minutes or so. By the way, my car feels like it has WAAAY more torque with this map compared to Cobb Stage 1. Thanks if anyone can help. I'm getting EGT and wideband guages installed next week, but until then...

I would PM Jeff at Perrin he is awsome about answering questions. I knew the Perrin Maps would be way better than the Shelf Cobb map

Does Perrin have custom AP maps ready for aftermarket mods? how can i get a hold of them?

^^Hell yes they do. I have a couple myself. Both mine are stage 3 though. 1 very aggressive map and one more conservative map!! You would have to PM Jeff @ Perrin though to get them. I know he will not send out maps for intakes at this time though.

What is the difference between the two Stage 2 maps that you have? different fuel octane i suppose?

I wonder why they are not sending out maps for aftermarket intake? cos thats what I intend to look for.

No the Octane is the same 92-93 from Perrin. A Stage 3 Map comes from having a FMIC and Turboback exhaust. It allows them to do more with the tune. You would have to ask a tuner for the technical details behind it. Usually with a stage 2 map the big difference is you see a wider powerband.

I tried running Cobb stage 1 map and has knock retard values in one of the runs as follow:

4000rpm 2.11
4700rpm 3.16
5300rpm 2.46
6500rpm 0.70

occasionally i get values of 0.35 in 1500rpm to 3000rpm.

Im running 94 octane, what gives?

You have intake, fmic, and other mods. Cobb has stated it is only suppose to be put on a stock car. No mods. Not even a drop in.

Do the values mean it was knocking? The strange part is that it only appeared in one of the few runs which I data logged.

Lesterh also has numbers recorded in his data-logging, I wonder if its normal.

I will reflash factory map back just to be safe.

The knock retard only appeared on one of my runs, and the values were much lower than what LVSBB6 stated. Highest value was 1.05. I assume this means that there was knock. If I have time tomorrow, maybe I'll datalog a few runs on the stock map to see if there is knock present. The engine at least feels like its a lot happier with the Perrin map loaded over the stock one.

Same here, it also only appeared in one of my runs.
Please do some more testing and keep me posted. We are getting a lot of snow here so i couldnt go out to do more data logging.

By looking at your sig, I would say that the Gruppe M intake is causing your problem. The intake is leaning out your car too much. I would advise to put the stock intake on or get a tune to match your mods.

^I agree completely. Cobb Stage 1 says stock car only. There is also some issue with tuning with the Gruppe M/Coltspeed Intake. There is is whole thread about it on EvoM. You might want to check it out. Its nothing bad, but something about removing a spacer or something like that. I can not recall now. Eccutek cars where having problems with the Gruppe M and it came down to something really small with the Intake. IMO with your mods you really need a custom tune. Not just for best results, but for safety!!!!
