: MR vs GSR spring differences?
TheSin 01-02-2009, 02:32 AM I know the MR comes with upgrades Eibach springs and bilstein shocks, and the Eibach Pro kit with 1.2"/1" drop says (exc. MR). So what are the differences, and I'd really like to stay with Eibach since they made the stock ones I just really would like to close the wheel to well gap 1.2"/1" seems like it would be perfect but am I hooped for Eibach with the MR? THe Eibach page has been broken since I bought the car so I can't check with them was hoping someone here would have the info I require, thanks!
Kooldino 01-02-2009, 02:40 AM There's a thread around about it, in a nutshell, the aftermarket Eibach springs work well on both the GSR and on the MR. The aftermarket ones sit lower and have higher spring rates.
You can purchase them here:

TheSin 01-02-2009, 02:42 AM oh sorry about the dup then I did try and search must not have had the right words ;) thanks for the info and I did think it was a little odd that the GSR could but not the MR.
This is a controversial topic and here is my very biased opinion. Springs and struts must always be a matched set. Lowering springs with a stock strut is already unbalanced compared to factory - no matter what their R&D marketing may claim (but not surprisingly - anyone who has lowering springs or sells them tend to disagree).
Now here are the facts: Eibach has spent time developing their lowering spring on one car, a GSR. I don't know what this R&D consisted of.
Eibach did not spend any time testing this spring or other springs to try to match the damp rate or behavior of the MR bilstein shocks.
I'm gonna leave it at that and let you decide.
TheSin 01-02-2009, 04:41 AM bilstein I have experience in, and I have a contact there from the 4x4's I'd built in the past. I'm sure they can fix that easy, plus we are talking 1" with a higher spring rate, so it means the strut will run at a higher compression but bumps should be the same effect. So really we are just talking about life of the strut that will change.
Also bilstein will have the stock strut numbers and the stock spring numbers, I give them the new spring numbers and they can figure out the strut I'll need. I want the spring for looks and I also what a stiffer suspension.
But mostly I just hate wheel well space ;) and I don't care if I have to buy struts more often :P
^If looks are what you care about then go for it!

if you find springs specifically to work with MR bilsteins please post up the part # and details.
philamthebest 01-05-2009, 07:30 PM Has anyone installed these? And by what amount does the car drop? am i gonna compromise on a huge amount of drivability?

Drop:
Front 1.2"
Rear 1.0"
I haven't installed them personally, but I've ridden in GSRs with them. Very nice feel, handling felt tighter than stock.
I'll likely put these on my personal car this spring and then upgrade to coilovers in 2 years or so.
