SATimko 11-16-2007, 12:14 PM That's freaking hot. I can't wait to see it at the Cleveland Auto Show. I may even venture up to Detroit again this year...
Jackygor 11-16-2007, 06:02 PM The black is so ridiculously nice
Daesharacor 11-16-2007, 06:37 PM WOW. That's just what it looked like in my dreams. :-P

TeamEvo 11-17-2007, 08:05 PM butt fugly is not a rival for hotness
soopah 11-18-2007, 08:47 AM butt fugly is not a rival for hotness
EVO = front end inspired by shark
STI = whole body inspired by whale shark
I think all the Subaru Impreza's have been fugly, though I like this hatch (WRX and STI) better than previous Impreza wagons. It's like, I don't care how fugly my car is, it performs. So if it performs, it will be comparable to the EVO.
_Chris_ 11-18-2007, 01:45 PM STI has a better interior...imo
Jackygor 11-18-2007, 10:14 PM STI has a better interior...imo
True, but Evo X interior is much improved compared to the 9.
Wraith 11-19-2007, 01:06 AM STI has a better interior...imo
Agree, IMHO it's alot better than the Evos interior and much better than any previous Wrx/Sti :)
Without being biased, I also like it's external look, definitely nicer looking (just like the new Evo 10 compared to past Evos) compared to any previous rex models...
Information I've read so far suggests the new Sti is faster/quicker than the new Evo, our Aust. spec will have 2.5ltr - 224kw - 407nm, with only a 10kg weight increase over the previous model Sti.
USDM and European markets will have the same 2.5ltr as ours, but nor sure about the power and weight figures...??
I believe the JDM Sti 2.0ltr is 225kw - 422nm.
Subaru are also going to release their own version of an SST type trans in around 12 months time - should be interesting and be included in the 1st model update.
Kasedog18 11-19-2007, 04:51 PM Hot Sex! Thats all that can be said about the car :) Def a step up from the 8 and 9 platform

The STI USDM specs are set at 305 hp and 290 lb.ft.
"The WRX STI’s revised 2.5-liter intercooled turbocharged Boxer engine, now with Dual Active Valve Control System (Dual AVCS), produces 305 horsepower (SAE) at 6,000 rpm, a gain of 12 over the previous model. The 290 lb.-ft. torque peak is the same as before but arrives at 4,000 rpm, which is 400 rpm earlier, for better response. Significantly, the more powerful 2008 WRX STI achieves the very stringent Bin 5 Tier 2-Federal (EPA) and LEV2-California Tier 2/Bin 5 emissions certification."

Sounds like a decent upgrade for the STI, looks aside.

Nice find. High quality video too.
Jackygor 11-24-2007, 10:36 PM Those head lights are nice :)
Wraith 11-26-2007, 12:38 AM Great vid :)
I too would be looking at those 'other' headlights if I were in his shoes LOL :)
TeamEvo 11-28-2007, 02:47 AM reports from people who've had the opportunity to drive it so far are the same as the WRX; very soft with excessive body roll and dive

Really ?? I've read reviews to the contrary....Sti is a great handler compared to regular Wrx, but still compliant enough for comfortable day to day driving, most certainly the set up most people would want :)
Either way, if it is too soft, that's easily fixed :)
MEVOX 12-09-2007, 05:25 PM I went to the show and spent about 4 hrs, talked to the mitsubishi rep. told me the price for the GSR base will be around $32,000 and the MR base $36,000, MR fully loaded $39,000 not including dealer's mark-up.
MEVOX 12-09-2007, 05:27 PM I guess only 5 pics per message alowed.
EVOXCO 12-09-2007, 05:34 PM Why is ther a washer fluid resavor in the trunk? Dose not look like they will have folding seats in the rear (that sucks for trying to fit anything long like snowboards and I am not a fan of roof racks)

_Chris_ 12-09-2007, 05:34 PM Very Nice! Keep em coming.
MEVOX 12-09-2007, 05:37 PM From what i understand they put the water tank and the battery in the trunk for better weight distribution.
EVOXCO 12-09-2007, 05:40 PM From what i understand they put the water tank and the battery in the trunk for better weight distribution.
That make sence.Do the seats fold or no?
silvreclipse 12-09-2007, 05:46 PM From what i understand they put the water tank and the battery in the trunk for better weight distribution.
is really not much weight betwwen the two but i see the concept behind that.
EVOXCO

well the seat would fold forward so they should anyhow the washer reservoir should not get in the way of that.
_Chris_ 12-09-2007, 05:53 PM That make sence.Do the seats fold or no?
The seats dont fold due to increased body stiffness...

_Chris_ 12-09-2007, 05:55 PM Where is the spare tire? :)

that sucks that they dont.hope the spare is not under the car like how trucks have them.

I like how the trunk doesn't have "internal" hinges.
Can't wait until a hood strut kit comes out for it too.
Kooldino 12-09-2007, 07:20 PM Spare is likely under the floor in the trunk.
EndgamE 12-09-2007, 09:02 PM Awww man how the hell am I gonna get my 4 12s in that trunk???
EVOXCO 12-09-2007, 09:10 PM Awww man how the hell am I gonna get my 4 12s in that trunk???
I don't think they are going to fit
EndgamE 12-09-2007, 10:14 PM o well i'll fit as many as i can. i'm going deaf anyway...
soopah 12-10-2007, 12:24 AM Thanks for these nice pics. Can't see fitting much in that trunk. My co-worker drives a Mazda 3 sedan and anything bigger than a suitcase goes in the back seat. Why couldn't they offer a hatch? The exact opposite of the question that Subie fans ask!
MEVOX 12-10-2007, 01:10 AM They might offer a hatchback or Sportback as they call it.
isn't the Ralliart verison supposed to be a 5 door hatchback model? could this be what we are to expect?
hmmm... very interesting. looks a hell of a lot better than the STi, imo.
