Trying to find the right short shifter for me...
I found one from TWM, that reduces throw by 30% and length by 1.25"
Are they a reputable brand?
How much do the other shifters reduce shift HEIGHT?
Like Works? I like the look of works but they don't have any solid numbers on height reduction, just throw reduction.
Any info would be nice ^^

Thanks for the replies.
That's what I like to hear about TWM... I'm thinking they may be a good choice.
According to cobb their shifter at maximum reduction is only 15% and I'm looking for something a bit more drastic than that.

Works is another option. I am very happy with the Works except the finish on it could have been a bit nicer theres one pretty tacky weld on it when it came but overall very beefy part and def noticably shorter throw. It sits about an inch shorter than stock and has a 30% shorter throw. But def get the AMS shifter bushings and Works Poly Bushings for the cage. I have also used TWM but on a Scion TC. I noticed that it sit low and hard a short throw but wasn't stiff (the way I like it) like the works.

I had the TWM in my MS6 and it was great. It sat lower and the throw was reduced while there was no added stifness. I will be getting it for the Evo when I get to it in my list of priorities..

im really considering the twm myself with the console bushings and a new knob, I'd really like to hear from someone that has it installed in their x. I also like the way it centers the shifter better. i think the works does too, but not the cobb.

Wow, thanks for this thread. I was only aware of the Works and the Cobb (damn its pretty) and was going back and forth between the two. Nice to know there's a third option!

I have the Cobb and yes not a HUGE difference in throw length but such a nice piece of work I jumped on it. I've heard horror stories on WORKS customer service post transaction and I will never buy from them even though they are like 25 minutes away from me. Also heard not so good things about other short throw shifters from them, so Cobb it was for me. I heard good things from TWM but just thought I'd go with Cobb as it's just so dam nice and their customer service is amazing.

i have the works, no complaints here. the works also shifts the position of the shift knob to sit closer to the driver, i am also running ams shifter bushings and works shift base bushings.

Works is great. Way shorter throws than stock and it doesn't feel like you are going to break it in half like the original unit. Their shifter bushings made it feel even better.

I ordered a set of these from these guys about three weeks ago and they've still not come in the mail.
