Anyone have personal experience w/red lug nuts? I've been contemplating getting some red lug nuts in the near future, but am worried that they may turn pink over time. I garage my car & only park outside when shopping, visiting friends, etc (so not hours upon hours of sun exposure). I'm specifically looking at these because they come w/wheel locks:

5zigen: http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2558&d=1231623929 (appears more pink in this pic, but not in others)

& Muteki: http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2559&d=1231624031

Pros & cons of these brands of lug nuts would be appreciated.

Thanks for the pic Rguy... they look good from here. If you could post a couple more pics when you have time (I'm getting black wheels too).

they are super soft.. you will need to be careful taking on and off, they will crossthread quickly.

also, the red will faid to PINk in about a year or so, unless you keep your car in the garage alot, and only drive it at night, like me.

i had the 5zigens, had to get another set because mine kept eating up threads. they are tooooo freakin soft. i would cross the threads putting them on by hand. I DO NOT recomend.

Don't get the mutekis. They are pretty cheap and the red will flake off the first time you put em on. I had the blue ones on my last car and there were streaks of the metal showing from underneath since the beginning

^thanks for the info STItoEVOX... I'll cross those off my list too then. Guess it's down to the Works & I'll have to seriously consider the Rays too now.

So to those w/the Rays, are you using the shorter sized lugs, or the "extended" lugs? (hard to tell in from the pics)

Im using the short ones, they are extremely light.

this is a best picture i have where you can see them, the whole set probably weights as much as 3 factory lug nuts or even less. :)

^Steph u know my opinion on it. I have not seen a set yet that look really deep red on the car and with you black wheels they will look even lighter.

^yeah, that's why the Works are appealing to me more, but I'm still considering the Rays since they don't look bad (would like them darker though) & seem to hold up well.

My Rays ones went pink pretty quickly, so I've since changed to black again :(
