maverick_124 01-13-2009, 04:19 AM damn nice dyno, number, and car
Kooldino 01-13-2009, 05:08 AM Very nice.
Questions:
What gear was that pull in?
How much laggier is the turbo over stock?
Was this on pump gas?
How do you like the clutch?
Congrats!
hameedosh 01-13-2009, 05:11 AM ^^ :+1: and GREAT numbers bro, congrats

+ 1 awesome power mate congrats!!! dyno graph when you can.
on2it 01-13-2009, 06:08 AM also... how much modification did the walbro need to fit into the stock harness or did you do something else ( or have they released one for the X?)
Also.. what was it tuned with?
Congrats again mate.. what are your goals with this car?
meat_EVO 01-13-2009, 02:06 PM oh hell yea.. i am shooting on the same power with the stock turbo. Nice Downpipe by the way!!!!!!!
GoKimiGo! 01-13-2009, 03:21 PM Looks great! I'd also like to know how that clutch is treating you? How's the around town drivability?
lwevert 01-13-2009, 03:48 PM nice numbers and congrats on the beast!
massappeal 01-13-2009, 05:14 PM Nice power! feel great? Im wanting about 450whp as well
the pull was in 4th gear and the turbo spool is like stock. I really dont feel much different. The car still drives just as it did the day I bought it except more power when your in it of course. All runs were done on 93 octane and my meth/water injection at 30psi. So far the clutch is holding great and is driving friendly.
Very nice.

I did the modification to the housing to hold the 255 pump but wasnt working right so I ordered a walbro foam type cover with a new line for the outlet. Here is what I used. Click on install partshttp://apeusa.com/?6000

I will get the dyno graph posted later tonight
Violat0rX 01-13-2009, 08:52 PM Nice numbers! This was done on a dyno jet or mustang dyno?

joshesevo22 01-13-2009, 10:57 PM i think my total came to about $4000 for all the stuff i needed that you had :p not the same brand but same parts which isnt bad at all for 450 hp and the dominater 2 turbo said its 520 horsepower for the turbo and thats all the hp ill ever want so thats pretty cheap for 520 horse!
You must of got some deals, Ive got more than that in it, and I did all the work and install, except for the tune

joshesevo22 01-13-2009, 11:47 PM noooooo haha thats only some of the parts that i needed that totaled that, i have some of the parts already bought b4 so with that added on it was about 2500 more hah
on2it 01-13-2009, 11:53 PM wow congrats!! thats the best dyno graph I've seen. 300HP hits you quite early at 4.2rpm.. that is 1500rpm better than the RedFP examples..
Bloody amazing.. infact those characteristics are so close ( or even better than the stock characteristics..) I think Ive found my turbo ;)
congrats again.
i bet when it spools up it just sucks your gut in. i think ive found mine also. would this make a good DD?
Tinus 01-14-2009, 02:06 PM Going for the same.
Great numbers, congrats, you have a serious evo on your hands and you can be very proud!
I'm soo jealous!! LOL
Burnett 01-14-2009, 03:33 PM That is a ridiculous powerband!!!
It makes a perfect daily driver, It drives like it did when it was stock
i bet when it spools up it just sucks your gut in. i think ive found mine also. would this make a good DD?
smith 01-14-2009, 06:33 PM that is amazing and looking at the graph it does look like the stock curve with a tune absolututly amazing:thumbup:
joshesevo22 01-14-2009, 07:32 PM where did you buy the UR 800 injectors and walbro 255 pump and how much if i may ask :D im guessing UR for the injectors?!?
I called up Ultimate Racing and got the injectors I dont remember what the price was but its on there web site. Any performance shop will have the pump, they run between $100.00-$120.00

on2it 01-14-2009, 08:49 PM so just thinking to myself the other day.. you must have about 500+HP at the crank..
does that sound right?
Are you going to go for more power or do you think you will be happy?
dcasandman 01-18-2009, 03:27 PM I was looking at this, and noticed this is about the same spool I got on my car with a stock turbo but with an extra 60 whp. Dyno Attached for others to compare. This is very impressive. I want something like this very badly.

What are you comparing this to?
dcasandman 01-20-2009, 01:42 PM ^Im comparing it to the dynograph posted right above mine in the quotes. I said 60hp I probaly should have said 100hp. To me it looks like his peak power occurs about the same time mine does with the stock turbo, so not worse lag. I would love to add an extra 60-80 hp. Im only comparing spool/lag time.
hameedosh 01-20-2009, 03:31 PM 4myX did you change your pistons and connecting rods or are they holding well ??
Im on the stock rods and pistons and its holding great

good to know bro, cause im on my way to your numbers
any way, any idea how much can they hold ??
Talon_66 01-22-2009, 04:41 AM Fucking sick numbers!
GoKimiGo! 01-22-2009, 01:47 PM Great numbers for sure, but it is definitely not lag free from that graph. There looks to be a fair dip in the curve below 4000rpm compared to the stock turbo. However this could be attributed to the tune, perhaps mid range and top end performance were the priority and the bottom end was sacrificed just a little, I am sure 4myX can give us some insight :).
Chris at AMS and I looked at the graphs before this turbo tuned and after this turbo tuned and the turbo lag looked almost stock and driving it I cant tell alot of difference.

dcasandman 01-23-2009, 05:21 PM I need to stop looking at this thread. It keeps getting me all excited. I keep telling my self to wait till end of spring first of summer, but I am not sure if it is going to be possible. 4myX if my wife shows up and kicks your ass at least you know why lol.
GoKimiGo! 01-23-2009, 05:27 PM Oh ok, I was just going by your graph compared to sandman's.
I am not an expert by any means, but if I am reading those graphs right at 3000K rpm sandman makes about 250ft/lbs torque and you are at about 200ft/lbs. At the same RPM he also makes 150hp and yours is around 115hp.
Maybe his mods and tune really helped with the stock turbo's response compared to stock.
Or perhaps I am seeing things incorrectly as I often do :p. Either way your curve looks great!

I think it is really close kimi thats why I posted it. It is very hard to determine exactly where each crosses where when they are not overlayed on the same dyno chart. I just think it is really close. I will say my car makes good power now at 3.5k, but if I really want to keep it cooking it still needs to be at 4k. 4myX dyno pretty much looks like as long as you are at 4k you will be moving pretty dam fast.
GoKimiGo! 01-23-2009, 05:38 PM Agreed :)
Kupkake 02-20-2009, 12:37 AM nice digits
TRUSTcompany9000 02-20-2009, 01:28 AM Did a quick PS and put sandman's dyno sheet onto 4myX for comparison:

400 HP @ 4200 RPM !!!!!!

you do know that it is not rated at 520 to the wheels. that is crank hp 520 chp after 25% drivetrain loss whiwhich is a tad over 125 hp. 25% is on the low side but it is 25hp for every 100 hp so it will get ya around 400 on a good tune.and a higher reading dyno. i made 550whp in my wrx,but it cost me 30,000 to make it a solid car and a daily driver. evo will get ya there cheaper. the drivetrain loss is about the same for both cars though.:)
on a side note dyno numbers are just numbers that will be different from dyno to dyno . i am not a tuner nor do i claim to be ,but i have had my car dynoed more than i would have liked see as it was sponsored so i have been around shops and dynos for about 17 years. i think they should not hand out numbers as this inflates heads .. a dyno is a in house tuning device to make a car run properly. a track is the true test of after tune performance imo. either way i hope the car pulls and runs the way you like it to ams is a bunch of very talented people, and i am going to have them tune my car also, but dealers actually recommend them in chitown area. that is pure respect
on2it 02-22-2009, 05:12 AM have you managed to go down to the track to see what this translates into times???

What kind of work?
Does the car have any weird issues or glitches?
What type of tuning was used?
There are 4 pins that hold your spyder gears in place in the center diff inside the trans, those pins are held in place by smaller pins and those pins broke. I dont know if I got a bad wheel hop or what but this has happened to a couple other guys too.

davidiii 05-05-2009, 03:53 AM how has the repair gone?
I just put a new trans in that's had a few thousand miles on ithow has the repair gone?
duncanjerry 05-07-2009, 07:26 PM Same thing happened to me and mojito. Mitsu covered mine under warrenty, mojito is in russia with no warrenty. I hear the 2008 diffs were rated at 400ftlb and the 2010 diffs are rated at 600ftlb.
Did you wear a whole through the tranny housing from the pin sliding out 4MYX?
no hole, car still drove. Just sounded like a rod was knocking. Xtreme boost said he got a 2009 trans and it had a different part number and it feels alot better. Im confuzed how the there is a new'r model out when they didnt even make a 09 model. the trans I have now came from the uk so no clue on what mine is

Do you know what the "better" tranny number was?? No u.k supplied cars have had gearbox centre diff failures to my knowledge... but some imported rs versions here in the u.k have suffered from the same roll pin failure:(
Kind regards,
GUM

exactly
dcasandman 05-09-2009, 11:14 PM I wonder if this could fix it? I'm not well enough versed mechanically to know.
