EcuFlash isn't entirely ready for the public yet. However, all that is needed is a Tactrix cable (about $169) and possibly some scanning software ($50 ish?) when it is ready.

AP is an excellent alternative for people that don't want to dabble into the open source (which could potentially mean 'scary') world. It's more expensive, but you have Cobb backing you up.

Do a bit of your own digging on what you want. I would probably guess that if you haven't already looked into the EcuFlash in depth that you aren't overly interested in dabbling with Ecu maps and logging. AP is probably better suited for you.

Would you be self tuning or just uploading maps from the forums and users and flashing to the ECU?

Because if you are self tuning the list of needed items to do it right is more than a cable and data logger. Need a wideband to self tune. What is that $250+

You can self tune with the AP as well, but like previously stated it can get pretty scary tuning your own car, expecially if it is a DD.

Good call. Sorry, you'll also definitely need a wideband as well.

Oh ya for sure. I admit although I'm gonna self tune with ECUFlash, the AP is an amazing little machine. But you still need a WB to tune it, however. All the data it can log is pretty crazy. Another good thing to kep an eye on is EGT and Oil Pressure....always good to check oil pressure. No oil pressure and you might as well be calling vendors for a new motor. Hahaha. So self tuning is a costly setup when done correctly but so rewarding!!!

self tuneing is still cheaper than getting custome tunes after every upgrade or fuel type change. you can also do a fuel economy tune a race fuel tune and a street tune on your own so no need to pay 1000$+ for the 3 tunes:shades:

Got it, here is a price break down of the cost of AP + custom tune. And ECUFlash + proper tools.
