I think this is 2 1/2 inches. I want to see some 1 inch drop only. But it's pretty hot.

if that's a 2 1/2 inch drop, i'd like to go for a 1 1/2 or 2 inch drop.

If that is 2.5", then 2" is fine by me.

1.5" with moderately stiffer suspension.

I prefer stock MR height. I think it's already 1.5" lower than the GSR from the Bilstein/Eibachs. No need to mess up the stock suspension geometry.

keep it 'as is' on the MR.

i also would like to pay only 35k for a fully loaded X MR. :)

Amazing how something almost so small can change the entire look of the car. That is a killer drop! I love it.

If I were to be getting an Evo I'd be doing about a 2" drop and hump it daily.

I'd go with 1.5 and hell i'd be willing to pay 35k for my GSR

You guys do know that was an angled platform at the LA Auto Show, right?

Oh Wtf.

Ban! Ban Ban Ban!

Eitherway, it gives off the appearance of the Evo being slammed which is nice to look at. The only thing that may be off here are our numbers..

...which is bad.

Look at the roof line, spoiler, etc., it is not angled that much, but it is angled. Anyway, are you saying that this is the standard ride height for the MR model shown? If we then get a GSR with 1.5" higher ride height we will likely want to drop it.

philly/tri-state roads are the worst ever, possibly in the entire universe. sewer covers rise up like 5 inches, potholes, raccoons and trolls, hubcaps, cones, its a pain in the ass.

keep it as is, plz.

i would do a 1.5 on it.but would prolly keep as is at first.

I would imagine much if any lower than stock MR height would affect the suspension geometry enough to make the ride unbearable and possibly even make it handle worse (like a really low 3rd gen Protege, where it ruins the passive rear wheel steering built-in to the twin trapezoidal multilink suspension). From pics it looks like the Evo X needs a 1" drop to look 'ideal' but who knows how that'll mess with the suspension.

function over form yo :)

The MR is lower? RLY?

they could of taken the pic angled as well so you can a good side view.i do it when i go to auto shows.but its does seem like a lot of weight pulling down.

LOL I totally agree.. :)

That pic looks so hot, I've already exploded my pants over it....

Seriously speaking, the look of the stock height of the Evo is definitely too high and ungainly, especially up front, in some pics it seems to have a massive 3" gap between tyre and guard lip.

However, I would also have concerns about adversely affecting the original set up of the cars dynamics and handling and then there's the high quality and expensive hardware you'll be tossing aside, ie: the stock Eibach springs and Bilstein dampers if you go to alternative coil overs for the lowering.....

I'd want to hear from someone who really knows if it would be ok to do this sort of thing, without good looks being the only benifit, or if it's best to leave it alone ??

How do we know the MR is lower? The spec sheet gves the ground clearance as 5.3" for both configs.

Still possible. The ground clearance can be decided by a lower control arm or other suspension link that doesn't change it's clearance no matter how low you make the car.

Good point, Chris. It would be nice to know how they measure that since I can't tell from looking at the pics if the MR is lower. One of the reasons why I ordered an MR is so that if I want to lower it a bit, I can just wait for Eibach to release springs for it and it will prolly only be a 1.1" drop and still look oem..

I think we need to clarify if we are talking about a GSR or MR, because they have different components and suspension set-up. I think I would modify the GSR suspension but would probably leave the MR alone. Lots of us want the MR equipment but also want the car sooner than later and want manual transmission, so are stuck with the GSR.

I second that notion, sooner >>> later.

it'll cost so much money to upgrade the GSR to the specs of the MR though.. HID headlamps.. retrofits are illegal and often dangerous (though if the halogen Evo is still a projector headlight it's probably not bad --still illegal though), the painted vents (I'd keep them black, I like the contrast), the brightwork on the front grille (if bling is your thing), suspension bits, the fastkey would be nearly impossible (ridiculously expensive), etc.

But yes, I do agree that sooner > later, especially if it's going to be like 6 months.

The only bits I would upgrade on the GSR would be the suspension, wheels, and maybe the spoiler. I do not mind the GSR badge (though it might come off). Then again, I may not change anything for awhile.

I bit the bullet just now, in order to keep my options open I've also put a deposit down on an STI. Now whatever I decide I'll have a car when I want it.

The rims are supposed to be 18", either Enkei cast or BBS forged. Is it photoshopped? I didn't pay close enough attention between the photo and the video.

looks pretty photoshopped. They definitely look like 19s, and the car is definitely much lower than stock (Even MR stock).. no car company aside from BMW sells cars that look that low.

As the original poster said, that is with a theoretical 2.5" drop.

That picture is definitely photochoped - very good job BTW :)

And the rims are the same 20" BBS as fitted to the prototype X !!!

Maybe that's where they came from for the chop job :)
