: Ralliart Vs. CSRT4
Johnson2K10 01-16-2009, 02:45 PM Im in the market for a sport compact... I want a EVOX... but dont we all lol its a little out of my range... so i was looking at the Ralliart and the Caliber SRT4... So what do yall think is the better choice betweeen these two?
X-Dan 01-16-2009, 02:47 PM Gonna be a little one sided on this forum.
But just for shnitz and giggles I'll say the Ralliart...
Scooter 01-16-2009, 02:54 PM I'd suggest Ralliart too...
...although if you can deal with a manual this is the time to buy an Evo. You can really drive them down on the price. I got my X MR with Tech package 36K and its MSRP is 41.5K. You could possibly get a GSR for ... 29K-30K. You just gotta know how to deal them down.
If not, Ralliart. It looks loads better than the Caliber IMHO. and you can get lots of bells and whistles with it. I don't know about the Caliber though.
Johnson2K10 01-16-2009, 02:55 PM how is performance of the ralliart vs. the CSRT
Scooter 01-16-2009, 05:13 PM how is performance of the ralliart vs. the CSRT
This might help. Both the SRT4 and the ralliart are in this comparo...

I am sorry, but the facts clearly driect to Mitsubishi.
fuck-a-SRT4
You truly asked the question on a evo forum?

Wait... meat... did you mean AWD > FWD lol
joshesevo22 01-16-2009, 06:11 PM ^ haha i was wondering the same :p all the others make sense tho :D, and yea your gonna have pretty much all the same answer on this thread and prob all the same answer if you go to the srt4 forum if there is 1
meat_EVO 01-16-2009, 06:12 PM Wait... meat... did you mean AWD > FWD lol
hahaha SHIT!
Johnson2K10 01-16-2009, 06:17 PM well i posted the same one in srt forums to get the strengths of both and see wut both sides say
joshesevo22 01-16-2009, 06:19 PM what did they say so far :p
meat_EVO 01-16-2009, 11:05 PM hum... srt4 much? geeze.
Papi4baby 01-16-2009, 11:34 PM If you are in the market for that price range i say 09 WRX.
meat_EVO 01-16-2009, 11:45 PM If you are in the market for that price range i say 09 WRX.
++++ 1000 That is a damn good choice.
lwevert 01-16-2009, 11:58 PM + bazillion on the 2009 WRX. I am pretty sure you could get a base GSR in the 29-30k range and the ralliart is only a couple grand cheaper, so I would say look around for a GSR. But the Ralliart is a way better choice than the CSRT-4. Get ahead of Socal Mitsu they always have awesome deals on Evos and the shipping looks pretty exceptable for the price they sell the cars for.
joshesevo22 01-17-2009, 12:05 AM Heres my choices if i was you
1st-Base modle evo GSR and spend coupld more thousand
2nd-2009 wrx
3rd Ralliart
4th Srt4 >.>
dcasandman 01-17-2009, 12:08 AM I am going to vote for the 09 WRX as well. Just was reading through reviews of it today. It matches or beats all the MR acceleration times. The Ralliart is really disappointing IMO.
fuzzymachinist 01-17-2009, 12:12 AM I'm with josh, for the difference in price between an Evo and an Ralliart just save for another month or so and get the Evo. If you need the car now go with the '09 WRX, base model is about $25xxx and is available in sedan/hatch if that makes a difference to you.
Edit: Just checked Mitsu website a base Ralliart is $26xxx, about $1000 more than the WRX for less car.

:amen:
If i didn't own the evo right now, this is what my list would look like.
370Z (only if i was single without a kid :p)
09 WRX
Evo GSR
335i
MS3
Cobalt SS
C SRT-4
Ralliart
And when i buy my house and pay the evo off, GTR baby you better believe it.
let me ask my girlfriend for you,
she asked, "what the hell is SRT4"..
after i showed her the picture of the car,
she said, "EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW"
unless u are gay or already have a wife,
otherwise, the answer is clear.
massappeal 01-17-2009, 02:39 AM Out of those 2? Ralliart!! I dont care if the Caliber ran 12's stock! No Thx! You check out the 09 wrx? thats a good option as well if you can get by the looks, but if your thinking Caliber then your not thinking looks anyways. ;)
BoyBeaterTsi 01-17-2009, 08:09 PM I had a neon SRT-4 .. traded it in for an EVO X .. bought another SRT-4 and traded in the EVO X ... just my experience.
lwevert 01-17-2009, 08:25 PM Yeah but you had a Neon SRT-4 which are awesome performance wise for the price and look good. The new caliber srt-4 looks like crap. I just checked a local subaru dealership and you can get a new wrx for 22,500. I wouldn't underestimate the Cobalt SS/TC it outperformed the rallart, wrx, and srt-4 if I remember correctl and its cheaper.

yeah if you want AWD get the subby(make sure is and 09), if you dont care for awd get the SS or MS3.
turbo99jetta 01-18-2009, 12:12 AM what about speed3?
lwevert 01-18-2009, 12:20 AM the mazda spped3 is a good car but the the cobalt has proven to be better on the drag and auto-x. I believe they are both in the same price range. SS/TC >MS3

While the SS is a better performer, the MS3 is no slouch and i rather be seen driving a MS3 than an SS, that's just me.
lwevert 01-18-2009, 01:25 AM The MS3 is definitley not a slouch. I have only driven the new ss/tc, but from what I read in magazines and from the lightning lap results. The ss/tc is a step above the MS3, but the MS3 looks alot better than the cobalt. Hell in the ss/tc did better than the Evo X too.
meat_EVO 01-18-2009, 01:31 AM Mazda Speed 3 hatch makes 250whp stock. my buddy had one and thats what he put down... bone stock on a DynoJet.. 253 WHP. Thats more then my evo put down stock...
joshesevo22 01-18-2009, 01:57 AM ^ doesnt that read 10-15% higher? or was that the other dyno that started with dyno hah :p
hollywood_X 01-18-2009, 02:34 AM Ok here is my input;
More than likely you are financing a new car right? These other cars your looking at will probably cost you more than an Evo GSR.
Mitsubishi deal = 0% for 60 months on a base GSR @ 29k = $500 a month. (If you buy before 2/2/09)
Other cars = 24k @ probably best interest of 6% for 60 months = $464
Consider that when looking
H8rade 01-19-2009, 12:52 PM If you can get 0% interest, get a base GSR Evo.
If not, I would buy an 09 WRX.

That 0% is a good interest rate, but only if you qualify for it.
jayevo23 03-02-2009, 06:19 AM wrx easy
99GSeX 03-02-2009, 11:31 PM If you want performance than find Evo gsr (base) I'm sure you can find one with same price as they have for ralliart on the market. MS3 is a beast too.
davidiii 03-02-2009, 11:44 PM with a simple tune the ralliart is making more power than a stock evo x...there is a thread here somewhere...sooo buy a ralliart, pay 650 bucks or so for a tune, and have yourself the same power as a stock evo

I want to see Ralliart beat Evo X, so bad. :D
BTW John are you going to mod your car or just stock.
shabarivas 03-03-2009, 09:15 PM ^ or... go buy a stock evo and for that same 650 have so much power it makes a tuned stock RA look like a corolla...
99GSeX 03-04-2009, 08:57 PM ^ or... go buy a stock evo and for that same 650 have so much power it makes a tuned stock RA look like a corolla...
Good point, if you can find X with price of RA.
shabarivas 03-04-2009, 09:14 PM well... if all you care about is straight line speed... get the RA... if you wanna see yourself smile when you drive... get the evo...
RGory477 03-04-2009, 10:10 PM For people who can't afford the evo, Mazdaspeed 3 FTW.
Powerful
Responds EXTREMELY well to mods
Spacious
Fuel Efficient
Decent looking(imo)
and Cheap.
Great car, buuut if you can afford the evo go for that instead :p
99GSeX 03-04-2009, 11:16 PM When you know that there is something out there that you could have afford instead of what you bought you will regret the day you bought your car. So.. take this very seriously and take your time.
Johnson2K10 03-05-2009, 04:03 PM well i have also been thinking of a new WRX 265... what do yall think?
meat_EVO 03-05-2009, 04:53 PM well i have also been thinking of a new WRX 265... what do yall think?
265 is the horsepower.
RGory477 03-05-2009, 05:03 PM Whether you go WRX, MS3, or Ralliart you'll have a good car in the same power range as the others. You just need to decide what your priorities are. Looks, mods, stock power, awd, ride quality? What exactly are you looking for. I'd write down the most important things for you then compair and test drive the three with those things in mind.

DONT get a MAZDASPEED 3 its overrated.
I have one
Johnny V 03-07-2009, 01:21 AM i wish the 09 wrx didnt look like a saturn and have the tendency to fry piston rings with stage 2 mods..
Oskinosmee 03-07-2009, 01:36 AM i wish the 09 wrx didnt look like a saturn and have the tendency to fry piston rings with stage 2 mods..
sounds like the mazda except me like throwing rods. In stock or modded forum
Brown211 03-07-2009, 01:47 AM i wish the 09 wrx didnt look like a saturn and have the tendency to fry piston rings with stage 2 mods..
09 WRX 265 above all those you listed. The sedan looks nice in person IMO. I think the 3Speed is ugs and the ralliart just doesn't perform although looks the best. B4 I got my X I was in the same boat you in now, I drove all these cars and WRX hands down. Someone said earlier in the post that you could talk mitsu down on a X... he or she is right. I saved $3000 off MSRP and got alot over black book (Canada) for trade by simply bitching and bitching! You gotta think, if you plan mods, X is the same price considering... Recaro, Brembo, wheels, susp, more horse etc.
Dude is right though... I heard The WRX can't be heavily moded if thats what you planned. But 0-60 in 4.8 is sweet...
well i have also been thinking of a new WRX 265... what do yall think?
he premium is what i think will eliminate the sti.i read an article in motor trend and the tests showed it ran 3 tenths slower in the quarter than the sti which would make it 1 tenth quicker than the evo from the same mag. the only issue that kept me away was the fact they are getting rod knock at around 2000 miles for no reason and subaru is dragging thier feet.i also think th car looks plain.although the interior is far superior
99GSeX 03-10-2009, 03:38 AM Let us know your decision.
CanadatoDenver 03-10-2009, 04:13 AM EVO GSR
MS3
....
seriously just save your money and wait for the new acura nsx....
99GSeX 03-10-2009, 05:35 PM EVO GSR

Yeah that will take some time.xd
Johnson2K10 03-10-2009, 11:25 PM Let us know your decision.
im heavily leaning towards the subaru... the only thing is ive heard the reliability of the new WRX is not very good so im simply keeping my options open
shabarivas 03-10-2009, 11:30 PM honestly man... why a new car? just get a used evo or a used 05 sti / W... they are fun cars and will give both the cars you have listed a run for their money. Just find one barely used.
99GSeX 03-11-2009, 02:29 AM How much you willing to spend?
Oskinosmee 03-11-2009, 03:16 AM honestly man... why a new car? just get a used evo or a used 05 sti / W... they are fun cars and will give both the cars you have listed a run for their money. Just find one barely used.
No such thing as a bearly used evo or sti!
evoevo 03-11-2009, 03:25 AM i'd say u can get a base evo gsr around 26-28k.. the ralliart isnt much cheaper.. so if u cant get the evo then get a 09 wrx..
Dont get a caliber srt4.. if it was a neon srt4 i'd say maybe but that caliber is ugly and performance wise sucks!
Johnson2K10 03-11-2009, 06:11 PM How much you willing to spend?
my spending range is around 27k... and i cant get a used STi or EVO because my insurance company has a high rate on evos and STis and my commute is pretty long and i need something with a little better mpg than 22.
99GSeX 03-11-2009, 08:54 PM I think your best choice actually is Ralliart.
Excalibur 03-12-2009, 12:51 AM after driving a regular caliber this weekend from Abiline to San Antonio and back, I will never condone a caliber to anyone. Cheapest piece of shit ever driven in my life to this point. 26mpg on the interstate (auto) 70-80mph. The kia we were given as a rental from an insurance company was better inside and also looked better outside to me.

They are quicker. I guess lol Cheaper BTW im considering one 2 maybe but im sure i will still go sliver X
RancerEvorution 03-17-2009, 03:02 PM actualy they arnt quicker. the evo x does 0-60 in 4.9 and the wrx does it in 5.2. check out edmunds.com. if u still think the rex is faster then tune the evo and it will shit on it.. or just hit up a track and see how the goofy unthletic rex does...
