This guy writes up a blog discussing the potential of the evo X and such. One of his main points is that the new 4b11 is a square motor whereas the 4g63 was undersquare (ie, it had more stroke than bore).
FYI: For a given displacement and all else equal, an undersquare motor will have more low end torque but be limited in RPMs (due to high piston speeds and smaller valves). On the other extreme, an oversquare motor will breathe nicely up high and rev high, but won't have much low end grunt (relatively speaking).
I myself am a fan of a square motor.
