Anyone have a single din HU in their X yet? I have the factory system, which SUCKS! Just wondering if anyone knows a decent kit. I see everyone putting in double din units but no singles. Anyone have any pics? Thanks!

I have a single-din head unit. Mine is a JVC Arsenal deck, which works well. I unfortunately don't have any pics of it, but do have my old Metra kit for sale here: http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11135

Thanks for the pic. This is a pic of the metra kit then? Is your scosche kit better?

Yeah, it's the Metra kit w/modifications done to it. The scosche kit looks a lot better than the metra kit did w/o modifications... stock for stock the scosche is better.

I too have the Metra, and when I get the time I'll be switching for a Scosche. I modified my Metra to have gauge pods, so I can't just get a scosche and switch it out, I need to make a mess first.

Sound is still shitty though. I put a sub in, which helped a bit, but the stock GSR speakers sound like they were made from paper and bubblegum.

LOL. I agree with the paper and bubblegum thing. They absolutely suck. I am going to replace the fronts with components eventually, but where to put the sub??? I stopped by a shop today to get some ideas, but the only thing they came up with was to use a removable box. I HAVE to be able to fit golf clubs in my car, so the Fosgate sub location is out of the question. I liked somebody's idea of putting a sub in the rear sets, but I don't like the idea of some numbnutz ripping my brand new seats apart either. Anyone have any good ideas? Thanks guys.

xPRimNT, do you just have a box in the trunk?

I bought someone's OEM sub box (they removed it to save weight). I had to open it up and shave off a piece, but a standard 10" sub fits just fine.

If you need the trunk space, definitely look into the rear seat idea. The seats come out really easily, so even if you get someone else to install it, they shouldn't screw it up too badly.

They have slim subs. See if you can find some to fit clearance under yours. Should not b that hard. check out pioneer.
