You are absolutley correct. Topgear is what it is because of the presenters and bbc's backing.
Anything else wont be as good. Case and point.. TopGear Australia.. its the biggest pile of.....

BBC America on monday nights @ 8. The "new" season is premiring tonight. Its only season 12 here but they are on season like 14 over there.

Hmm, according to Wikipedia, Season 12 ended in the UK w/ the Vietnam special (which was awesome!!!) so I'm not sure what numbering system they are using on BBC America. It's supposed to return in Spring 2009, maybe as late as June.

I'll just keep watching the real deal via torrents happily. Screw watered down immitations.
