mikeyb 11-29-2007, 05:07 PM Its hot but way overpriced. So with this being $37K will the Camaro SS/Z28 be around the same price?
SATimko 11-29-2007, 05:14 PM I like how closely they stuck to the original styling cues. The seats are close, pistol grip shifter, dual snorkel hood scoops (needs more functionality), and the rest of the look of the car. I'm anxious to see one in real life. That price is a bit rediculous IMO. I wonder if it will do what the GTO did and be really affordable in a few years when every dealer is stuck with them.
Kooldino 11-29-2007, 09:48 PM ROMG! The video condones street racing!

It should be around the same price as the Camaro. Why would you say it is over priced? 425hp/420torque....and isn't the Evo X going to be around the same price? The 2008 models are SRT8's.

I just think it over priced. Hopefully there is a standard HEMI R/T that will compete with the Mustang GT. For around that price I can get a BMW 335i or a Pontiac G8 GT and supercharge it and have more power or wait for the rumored G8 GXP.

All true! But, every swinging dick on the road has a beemer...there is something to be said for styling...IMO. There will be a standard Hemi R/T and a six cylinder model. They are also "planning" on the 6.4L as well. I have an SRT8 and I think most would be suprised at the refinement that it has. It is a muscle car but handles like a much smaller car...and has great brakes.

So true! I was running errands on base this morning. I've seen dozens of BMWs on the road.
Anyways, its rumored that the 08 Challengers will be Automatic. Manuals available in the 09 models.

I dont think so.
http://www.allpar.com/cars/dodge/challenger.html
"The first Challengers will be SRT-8 models with automatic transmissions, with a HEMI® Orange exterior, hood stripes, and a 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 engine, produced in March or April as 2008 models. The first three will be auctioned off for charity. After the 2008s, all SRT8 automatics, comes 2009 model-year production with all three engines and both size Hemis with six-speed T-56 manual transmissions. (We reported this on October 15. Autoblog confirmed it in early November.)"
ahhhhh...it says it says a duel clutch "may" be added at a later date.

No change here. My car was also built in Canada...parts manufactored in Mexico!
mikeyb 12-01-2007, 11:25 AM The actually MSRP is $40,095 not $37,995. The Challenger has a $2,100 gas-guzzler tax penalty. How come Pickups and SUVs are not slapped with this tax?
