Most of of you have dream of it, a full review with a huge number of Hi-definition photos and a fabulous HD-Video of the match of the year between a Subaru Impreza (http://www.nihoncar.com/en/news_details.php?id=668#) WRX STI 2007 and a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X.
Well this dream will be come a reality in few days since we are NOW working on the video editing of this duel of the 2 most awaited performances cars (http://www.nihoncar.com/en/news_details.php?id=668#) that we put in the hands of Masaki Nishsihara (http://www.m-nishihara.jp/) 5 times consecutive Champion of the "All Japan Gymkhana" and professional pilot.

MDMitsuX 11-30-2007, 03:14 PM OMG it's about damn time! the SST delays and the not releasing price business has started pushing me back to the subaru side...if you preorder an sti now and take delivery by March you get a special STi edition iPod touch! not to mention I can get special pricing for being a nasioc.com member and subaru loyalty money...but I can get a new evo at about invoice for selling mitsus this summer...so this test will help me make a final decision!

do you think evo has a more broader/low end torque....

Looks a an engine dyno.
Looks like the Evo makes less peak torque but has a boarder range.

SoSuMi 12-02-2007, 09:15 PM But if this is a Japanese spec STi, it will be with the 2.0 liter egine, right?... In any case it will be interesting. The Edmunds Inside Line article on the STi suggests that the 2.5 liter STi is faster even on 91 octane gas and it did better than the X in the slalom as well. Me thinks that the flat 2.5 liter engine, which now sits just a little lower, helps with a nice low center of gravity.
Not looking good 'fer the X.

Wraith 12-02-2007, 10:29 PM Sti, now well ahead 52% vs 48% for Evo....not surprising, the Sti is the faster car, no question, (it has a far better power/weight ratio) so it's not surprising most people are backing it over the Evo :)
And yes your USDM and our ADM Sti's with the 2.5 boxer will be quicker than the JDM 2.0ltr....
The 2.5 boxer is also easily modified into a power and torque monster :)
