RancerEvorution 02-22-2009, 04:10 PM I want to trade trunks with you !! i have an octane blue evo x with sss package. if ur trunk never had a wing (NO HOLES) then pm me!!. i will trade with some cash down too. must be OCTANE BLUE with NO HOLES!!!!!!!!! thank you
CanadaEh! 02-22-2009, 04:30 PM I want to go this route also. Good luck
iceman5 02-25-2009, 09:06 PM I think the lancers is a different shade of blue.. not the same as the evo x..
boostin20 05-30-2009, 03:23 PM I just looked up the paint codes for the lancer DE and gsr. The DE is code T70- electric blue pearl, GSR is D06- octane blue pearl. The DE trunk is available from mitsu (unpainted only) for $358.41. If you have an account with a dealer, it can be had for $305.
I think I'll roll this summer with the wing, and wingless with the DE trunk next show season.

Thanks for the info.
Malves85 05-30-2009, 05:17 PM Wouldnt it be cheaper to just take the spoiler off and have a shop fill and paint the holes? You can then sell the spoiler and pocket some cash out of the deal.

Personally, I think it will be within $50-80 of each other. Either way I think it will be a little under $500 (depending on body shop, could be less). The reason I'm going the new trunk route is I want to be able to switch whenever I get in a funky mood.
CF trunk would solve that problem

Not for me.
08SmurfEvoX 07-12-2009, 11:46 PM The 2009 lancers came out in octane blue. And most of these lancer guys all wanna get evo wings on their cars anyway so we shouldn't have to give any money on our ends they should be paying us since the wings on our cars go for about 1800 lol
Domo X 07-13-2009, 12:23 AM how bout a painted cf trunk?
Frankiago 10-22-2009, 07:04 PM I just bought an OEM Lancer wingless trunk... WITH FAST KEY HOLE! I don't understand how that's an option as I wasn't aware any wingless models (pre-2010 MR Touring) had a FAST key option.
Either way, as soon as I find a paint shop that'll do a respectable job without charging over $300 to paint a trunk lid, I'll sell my trunk and wing together (Octane Blue). I'm sure some Octane Blue Lancer guy would want to sport the SSS + Aero wing and have the Evolution badges still on from the factory
These OEM parts are ridiculously expensive. The OEM lip spoiler cost me about $230 and the unpainted trunk was $280 :duh:
At least the lip spoiler comes pre-painted...
Evooooo 10-22-2009, 07:33 PM I dunno why people remove the wings I know its personal preference and all but isnt there some function to the wing as well? I personally think it looks so much better with the wing. Kinda what makes an evo stand out from a lancer ya know.
Frankiago 10-22-2009, 08:58 PM I dunno why people remove the wings I know its personal preference and all but isnt there some function to the wing as well? The rear wing was designed to work with the Evo's body to increase downforce, but it also increases drag. Removing this heavy wing (13 pounds?) will give you an insignificantly faster 0-60, and will give you an insignificantly higher top speed and insignificantly better 1/4 mile times from the insignificant weight savings and slightly significant reduction in drag.
I personally think it looks so much better with the wing.I personally think it looks so much better and cleaner without the gawdy wing. It also helps visibility through the rear view mirror a ton when it's no longer blocking your view.
Kinda what makes an evo stand out from a lancer ya know. The flared fenders, hood, fender vents, front grill and rear diffuser is what makes an Evo stand out from a lancer to me...

Or, ya know, the motor ;)
Wingless FTMFW!
Frankiago 10-23-2009, 10:24 PM Or, ya know, the motor ;)
Yeah I always make it a point to look through the hood vents to make sure it's the 4B11T in there and not a 4B12...
unethikl 10-28-2009, 07:53 PM wingless for me too. I covered the holes with some of those things you put on chair legs.
Frankiago 11-08-2009, 10:03 PM I know this is an old thread, but just as an FYI.
The only option for wingless trunk swap is as follows:
OB GSR with SSS:
2009 or 2010 OB Lancer ES with SS Package but no Sport Package
Base model OB GSR (no SSS):
2009 or 2010 OB Lancer ES with no Sport Package
So as you can see, it'd be hard to even find someone with one of those specific Lancers, let alone getting in touch with him/her and discuss a trunk swap.
