: Evo X Ships 1/1/2008!!!
wickedchimp 12-07-2007, 12:53 PM I was at the dealership yesterday(lewisville mitsubishi) and met with a regional manager who happened to be at the dealership. I understand that he was the manager over about 15 stores. He was amazingly helpful. He told me that the first shipment to the US is shipping 1/1/2008. It then takes 10-14 days for the evo to arrive at the dealership. There are two other shipments mentioned as well. One on 2/1 and one on 2/21. So the first EVOs should be hitting the streets in mid jan. He was able to show me on the computer that they had MRs that had a ship date of 2/21. So the whole November 2008 rumor appears to be debunked. I was told that pricing is usually available on the vehicles 2 weeks before they ship so we should know pricing in the middle of December. He was able to pull up the vehicles that the dealership was allocated and present a VON number for the vehicle that I wanted to purchase. I was told that the VON number is the number the car has through production until it is assigned a VIN number.
A couple of things that he cleared up for me were:
1. There will be an available Aero kit as an option and it can be put on at port. Does anyone have a picture of this kit?
2. The Fast key system will be on all GSRs unless you order the BASE trim and will be standard on the MRs .
3. Nav is an option on the GSR and the MR and can be put on at the port.(
He wasnt able to tell me if the steering wheel would be upgraded with the bluetooth buttons if you get NAV on the GSR.)
4. The Recaro seats in the GSR are the same design as the MR but different fabric.
_Chris_ 12-07-2007, 01:00 PM The wait is almost over!
Check out the Aero kit in SiC's pictures.

I believe so, if you watched the autospy video, thats what the mitsu rep. said, GSR for 34k and MR for 39K, i don't believe those are the final numbers =P at least i would hope so...

God I almost faint everytime I see the prices that you guys in the U.S. pay for cars, they're so cheap, you lucky people :) your Evo 10 price wouldn't even buy a base model Lancer here in Aust. our Evo 10 price will buy you guys a new R35 GT-R !!!
Good to see you guys who've ordered one almost have it almost in your hands - I'm sure the rest of us look forward to your personal reviews and thoughts on the car :)
I also look forward to developing knowledge on modifications, especially the tuning side of things, it will be interesting :)
Kooldino 12-14-2007, 01:09 AM Man, 16/22 MPG doesn't sit well with me. That's awful.
My mazda has an older engine with more HP and I still manage 22mpg on average which is mostly city driving.
Bottom line = the X is too heavy.

16/22 is an absolute joke, there is no way around this. If I was Mitsu, I would be downright embarassed.
They want the Evo X MR to be a daily driven performance vehicle and they pull this crap, come on. I guess we can all feel a little bit better knowing that
if we went by the old testing rules, the Evo X MR would be 19/24...that's still disappointing though

TriStateEvo 12-14-2007, 07:42 AM Welcome to the world of forced induction and 2008 EPA rules.
Jackygor 12-14-2007, 08:12 AM hahaha, maybe it is just me, but the MPG isn't really bothering me.
I used to drive a G35 coupe, and that thing eats gas like a V8...
HRCboy 12-14-2007, 08:16 AM ^^^ Exactly! If you want high MPG go buy a YARIS!
