Well here it is. What a let down. I wanted to see more numbers on these two.

I like how the STI gets all out of wack around the turn that the Evo has no problem with. I think the EVO has better handling IMO.

Ive read alot of places that the impreza is seriously lacking in the handling department. Makes the buying process an easy decision for me. The only thing i like about the impreza is the hp numbers. Put a boost gauge and an mbc on the evo and you will be right about the same numbers. Hopefully the evo runs rich from the factory. ;)

Conclusion:
Do you remember the VW Golf GTI which, generation after generation was trading performance for comfort (until things changed for good recently again)? Well it now seems that our 2 beloved Japanese car manufacturers are hit with the same disease. The best example has to be the "ECO" mode on the Impreza WRX STi, it has the ability to turn what is commonly known as a sportscar into a snail.
We, at NihonCar, are huge fans of the Evo 9 and Impreza RA-R and this is why we have been very disappointed by those two new generations which seem to slip down the hill to feel more and more like a Lexus minus the real interior comfort.
If we had to choose, we'd pick the Evo X because the handling and style are better.
I could only recommend the fans to stick to their Evo 9 or WRX STi 2006 until Ralliart or Subaru prepares something really worth it (2008 RA-R??). Maybe the major tuners (Mine's, Top Secret, HKS...) will show them the way but don't get us wrong, those are good family cars offering sweet sensations...just not what we expected really.

i think i can live with that since i'm pretty much one of the larger market they are targetting.

That is exactly what I am looking for.

They're still in the same ballpark as their predecessors are performance wise, but they're far better in terms of looks an comfort.

That really depends on their ease of tunning.

That was a crap video. And a pathetic opinion piece of an article. And I was expecting a race or lap times or something. I mean, there's a dude in racing gear, here's an idea, RACE THE GOD-DAMNED CARS!

No racing and no numbers? They seem really depressed that both cars has gotten soft, maybe that is why they did a halfass job on it.

That video was like an intro... but no actual video footage of worth. So depressing.

They only ever were "sports family sedans".

They were never "sportscars".

they're not US market cars, moot point for most of us ...

HA! I started a thread about this! I asked if the evo was sacrificing performance for amenities. The general consensus was to crucify that kind of talk... Seems lots of people were very misinformed but were pretty sure of their information...

looks more like a damn commercial rather then a test for both cars.
