CompUSA closed 50% of their stores last year.. they closed the worst performing stores.
This year, sales weren't even 50% what they were the year before --and that's with just their top-performing stores still running.
At least the one here in Rochester got significantly renovated after the first half of the stores got closed. As it is right now it's at least on par with the look in any Circuit City or Best Buy. Problem is, CompUSA prices SUCK.
If I want specialized computer parts, I can just go to FrozenCPU.com (http://www.frozencpu.com) (it's 10 mins from here) and get decent stuff.
I've bought plenty of stuff at CompUSA but only when they have ridiculous sales to get rid of inventory.
