I've always been a fan of the platform beds just not willing to pay the extra cash since my bed still works fine.

What exactly is the difference between a platform bed and a normal bed?

how did you score that awesome deal?
(from a web site)
...Platform beds are close to the ground which stays cooler through the night, which is part of their appeal. Plus getting in and out of a platform bed is easier, no jumping or stairs required!

low beds are ftw. I should just put my mattress on the floor, that would make my room seem like it was from a real 'college apartment'.

One nice thing about high beds is that you can put shit under them. :)

closets > high bed
you can still fit stuff under many platform beds. for example, I can fit a notebook or a paperback book under mine.. laptops fit too unless they're gargantuan (there's 8 laptops under the bed right now haha)

I dig the look as well. I bought it on craigslist.
As far as storage is concerned I just recently cleaned out what was underneath my bed and most of it was junk or stuff I had yet to install around the house.
