I know the Ralliart does not have the super sport mode, but how does the SST in the Ralliart compare to the MR's otherwise? If you put the car into manual mode, will it still shift 1) just as fast as the MR, and 2) hold the revs until you tell it to up/down shift?

It will hold the revs. It lacks launch control and super sport mode.

Is ss mode an automated manual mode where the computer shifts for you?

Yes. It just shifts as to maintain the rpm even higher than sport mode. Above 4500 I think compared to about 3500.

yes the MR version shifts harder, but is it worth 15-20k extra, hell no! Overall, I think it's a joke trans. Just making a budget performer more expensive. If thy offered the manual like they should, they would....
A. steal some more sales from potential buyers
B. have a trans that could actually handle the power these 4b11 motors a capable of
C. be more fun to drive
D. be less expensive to fix (we know we'll need to)
E. & not overheat so easily from driving hard (spots sedan hello! meant to be driven hard, especially if yer paying enough for it)
Yea the trans is the only thing I'm not enjoying about this car so far.
MR grabs gears quicker in manual sport mode. No difference in super sport mode from sport mode in manual mode...LOL!! sounds confusing but I can't think of any other way to say it. I prefer the SST over a regular automatic with paddle shifters. This is the real deal. Shift shock is similar to that of a manual gear box. I personally love it!

It is still a young tranny, it will work, it just needs to age a little.

I think the SST could be fun (in Ralliart or MR trim), but I guess I'd like to know more about reliability and longevity. Jury is still out on that one though... I'd especially like to know about reliability with one of the tunes that are available... I don't do hard launches, but I do like to run my car through the rpms. I'm hoping the SST will fair better if it's not launched hard off the line (seems like that is the most likely way to hurt the tranny...).
I don't think I'll be in the market any sooner than October or November at the earliest (which is too bad because I doubt the 0% offer will still be available then).
still sucks
LOL!! Cheese and Crackers with your WHINE sir?
