I was thinking about picking one up but would it be helpful? Harmful? Also are there any complications with the FAST key and/or the TC-SST tranny?
Note: This is my first turbo car and first AWD car so any help would be appreciated. I just want to elongate the overall life of my car. I'm really glad that stock form is fast enough....for now but I'm definately going to be fighting off the mod bug.

As previously mentioned somewhere on here there is no real need for a turbotimer unless you are going to be performing some serious mods and/or tuning. Also, there are many complications linked to the keyless entry/start system... And because of that no one has really bothered to make a fully automated turbotimer. If it was really needed in a stock application, I dont think Mitsu would have overlooked that point. The Evo does have, however, an after-run feature where fans are activated to cool down the turbo when certain temperature requirements are met (like after a hard run).
If you really want to preserve the life of your car you should probably wait a minute or two before shutting off the engine... But thats only if youre really concerned... There is no real use. Turbotimers are not really needed in modern applications. The Supra TT only has one because it was developped in the early 90s where they did not necessarily have the same manufacturing techniques as we have now...
Note: Dont kill me for the horrible punctuation... Im doing this from my iPhone.

i'm getting a turbo timer for my mr just cuz it's a mod that helps "preserve" the car's lifespan i guess and hks make a harness specifically designed for the 2008 MR and another for the GSR and i'm sure they are different, taking the ignition and transmission into consideration.....

I have the Blitz turbo timer. Only reason I have it is it came with the car. It works great with the fast key no problems. The only grip I have with it is you can't lock the door when the turbo timer is running. Mine is set in auto mode so it senses when the car has been driven hard and adjust its self accordingly. Normally when I drive it in the city it keeps the car running for about 10 seconds. I have had it run for 1.3 minutes when it was driven hard but most of the time its anywhere from 10sec to 50 seconds. Just sucks cause I can't leave the car till it shuts off so I can lock it but it really is no big deal.

yea im not getting one.theres too many other variables so i think the best is what i do, let it idle for a minute or two after i drive it. if it's not broke, don't fix it you know.

Don't know about the American version but the Aussie ones here definetely keep the fan running after a hard run. I've walked away from my car a couple of times with the fan still running even after the engine has been shut down and the doors locked.

My fan runs as well and its the North American/Canadian version. Hard run on the strip or on the road course and she stays on for about 2- 5 mins. Depends if I pop the hood open or not.
