I am having no luck with this damn AEM boost controller. I have had it now for about 3-4 weeks and still fine tuning it to get boost right:wtfsign:
When i press the gass about halfway down and let it boost up to about 21-23 psi or so the car goes into limp mode and I throw a SES!!! I forget what the code numbers were but the codes were afr to lean and transmission slip...one of them was p1235 (i think?) When I clear out the codes and try this again this time with the pedal to the floor boost jumps to about 21 and holds around 18-19, not throwing any SES.
What the hell is going on I have tried turning down boost and crack pressure of wastegate from the gauge, but then only I boost up to about 16-18 psi? I can tell the car is a bit sluggish here. So of course I crank it back up agian and wala...same story?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I am at a damn witts end with this fuckin thing!!! any help here guys would be greatly appreciated!!!

Yeah this boost controller is a bit confusing. Is your spring pressure set at 14? read the manual it kinda gives an idea of what to do.
Part throttle overboost is your problem. Does the AEM let you set boost according to throttle position?

I actually have the spring pressure set to about 11.4 right now. I have read the damn manual about 15 times...its confusing as hell.

no it lets you set the boost according to duty cycle...10-90%. This is where I am confused right now I have the duty cycle set to about 64% and waiste gate crack(spring) pressure set to 11.4. This is fine at WOT I am holding at about 19psi or so, but at half throttle I hold a constant 22-23psi and this is where I throw a SES!

Oh I see. That is wierd. I would say call aem technical support and hopefully they can help you out.

So i just was reading a SRT-4 forum about this aem gauge and they were having similar problems as I am. To solve the probs they set their spring pressure to about 4 or 5 and 60%duty cycle. I went outside just now and tried this...6.7 spring pressure and 64 duty cycle and I held a constant 19-20 @WOT and about 22 psi half throttle. I did this for acouple of runs and did not throw any lights. Mabye I just had my spring pressure up to high the whole time. Well I think i'm on the right track so I'm gonna keep playing with it till I get it right. Hope this thread helps anyone with this type of boost controller!!!

Yeah I was just reading on aempower.com forums and everyone is setting there spring pressure lower then what it really is. Mine is at 14 and ive been getting alot of ses lights so I will be lowering it down. Thanks celica2evo for your info

I had the Tru-Boost last year when I first got the car and after a month said F* it and got a hallman MBC. Now I let the ecu control boost and use the Tru-Boost as a boost gauge.

were you having the same problems we were... throwing codes all the damn time, mainly for overboost?
