: Problem

Well I have a problem here. After I put my KN filter instead of the spectre filter, I've been getting a SES light. Today I went to aamco and got the code which was P1235-Mass airflow sensor plausibility. So I check my MAF and see that the plastic is a little bent. Meaning when I looked through the MAF housing, it wasn't a perfect circle. I guess I tightened it too much and bent it. Tonight after class I enter the freeway and was in 3rd gear so I go WOT and at 5k the car studders hard like traction kicked in or something so I let go of the throttle. A couple minutes pass and I down shift to fourth and the SES light goes off again.

So you guys think the MAF housing is causing the car to jerk like that at WOT?
My mods are in my sig.

Also where can I get a new MAF housing?

Thanks

looks like bad MAF to me but how long have you been running your boost controller and how much boost are you running?

Sorry, just to go over what happened again...

You got a different filter? And it's on your AP intake?

Do you have a boost gauge? Because even though the P1235 is defined as "MAF sensor implausibility", I've only seen it in the setting of overboost. Check what your controller is set to, I bet if you turn it down a touch (or get a tune to change some limits), you'll never see it again.

P1235 happens for many reasons - if you search around you'll find a variety of them.

Can you post detailed pics of your MAF?

Here's a pic. Im talking about the left side. It's a little bit in..

Today I put in the spectre filter and lowered the boost and drove around. The car is back to normal. So the reason we are getting the p1235 code is because of overboosting. I was reading about people having the same issue and mostly everyone is untuned and running high boost.

I got the same code once for overboost with my mbc. It's not a constant 1235 every time though. It has thrown 0238 a few times also.

You're right, you bent the s**t out of that maf liner.

Lol I did but the wierd thing is after I put down the boost and now my car is running perfect.

Yeah, I have to tweak the boost every time the weather changes about 10 degrees because I try to have it as close to boost cut as possible.
