For years, I have been tortured by Red Robin commercials on TV with no Red Robins in my area. Finally, they sacrificed a local Johnny Carinos restaurant and rebuilt it as a Red Robin. Watching the construction, I felt it couldn't go up fast enough.
Finally, the day came that they opened their doors. I really like this place. The waitstaff is really helpful, the place is clean, and best of all the food is good. While they have a variety of items on the menu, they are most well known for their burgers.
What makes their burgers so special is that they're really unique. Each burger has it's own set of toppings, it's own type of bun, it's own spreads, etc. For instance, the Santa Fe burger (arguably my favorite) has an onion bun, Ancho mayo, sauteed onions, tortilla strips, seasoning, pepper jack cheese, poblano pepper, guacamole, and iceburg lettuce. Right next to it, you can have a Blackened Bayou Burger on a Jalapeno roll with Creole mustard, coleslaw, blackened seasoning, pepper jack cheese, angry onions, and roasted red peppers. It's really nice to see how completely different they can make one burger from another.
The only thing I'm not huge on there are the fries. Sure, they give you bottomless steak fries with each meal, but they're rather bland. The only saving grace is that you can opt for the garlic parmesan steak fries at the expense of extra calories.
Overall, this is a great place that almost anyone will love. If you haven't been to a Red Robin, I urge you to give it a shot.
