Saw this a while ago, apparently the Renault driver is a 10 time Arab rally champion and had done a good run in the morning with the car. That afternoon a lot of dust and sand coated the track and was not cleared, that makes for a bad combination for someone that is not used to driving a car that light with that much power being sent only to the rear wheels with no electronic traction aids.

I think in the tenth season of top gear, richard hammond, who has raced a Veyron against a jet lol, gets to try an F1 car at the track. Hunt the episode down at hessmo.com and watch it. It'll open your eyes to the world of driving an f1 car. It exited me in ways that no small British man should.

well the F1 has no traction while it still slow..... when the mines r34 vs f1 on wet, you'll see.

^That isn't a Formula 1 car. But even that Formula car with a lot less power and less downforce was about to destroy the R34. I wonder what the out come would have been after a full lap. The reason for lack of traction in that Formula car isn't the low speed, it is because it is wet, the Formula car is RWD with no electronic assistance and the R34 has AWD with traction aids. Off the line in a very short distance race of course it has a big advatage, but once that launching wet traction is no longer into play you can see how fast the Formula car is pulling in the GTR. That race would have been different in the dry for example.
