: Dino's Trunk Interior

Sorry for the crappy photos, but I figured this was thread worthy.

I recently made a nice mount setup for the trunk for my amps, carpeted a bunch of stuff, and even put a hidden toolbox beneath the floor (because after all, it is a mitsu!).

I had to remove the spare tire to do it, but I made sure to put a can of fix-a-flat in there as well.

It's still not 100%, but it's close.

Without further ado, my first crack at a trunk job:

It has the same amount of trunk space as stock. Everything is mounted beneath the stock floor, where the spare tire was.

Also, when I'm not showing it off, I just put the stock carpet over this so it keeps it clean.

I dunno, I just kind of made it up as I went along.

The top pieces (center and passenger side) are just traced off of the stock flimsy pieces. I used an expensive sheet of 15/32" strong plywood for those.

In the middle of the center piece, I cut out an area for the plexi glass, which I bolted to the plywood and counter-sunk the heads of the bolts.

For the lower piece, I just cut a piece of plywood that fit the bottom of the floor, drilled holes in it to run the wires through, and carpeted everything up.

Haha. This didn't cost me much. Maybe $100 in materials. It's the time that's the killer.

PS - the SpeedCircuit logo is an "etched glass" vinyl decal.

It looks really nice when the car is on and the amps glow up.

Someday I'll throw some LEDs in there, carpet the subwoofer and black foam piece, and maybe even find the sides of the amps so I can cover up those wires.

Hey what kind of amps & speakers are you running in there. I can tell that's a JL Audio is it a W6? No clue what the amps are. :) Kind of look like Alpines.

Head Unit is the Alpine 505, and I run Alpine Type S speakers.

The amps are the F300 and the M500 V-Power amps from Alpine.

The sub is a JL W1, but I'm not too happy with it.
