: Powdercoated EVO X Valve Cover Exchange Program

JNZTuning
05-18-2009, 09:48 PM
We have received numerous PM's and emails if we have a EVO X valve cover for core exchange purposes like we do with the DSM's and Galant VR-4.
We are highly considering doing this, but would like to get a list of those organized on the site who are serious about it. We understand that your EVO X is your primary mode of transportation for many of you out there.

EVO X valve cover is rather pricey, so our core deposit will be $200, to cover any damages etc. This will be refunded to the customer once we have a chance to inspect their valve cover for scrapes, cracks etc.

Please start a list below if interested:

just to clarify for my self and others... how much is the actual service? So i would pay you $200 + ..... and then get my $200 back upon you receiving and inspecting my valve cover.

+200 Core fee + Cost of actual service
core will be refunded once they see your valve cover isnt broken, cracked or messed up.

I am interested but im just not ready to pull off the valve cover off just yet.

Whats involved in taking the valve cover off? Just take a few bolts out and lift up or is there a process and special precautions to take?

Just to be sure that it is crystal clear this is a refundable core deposit to ensure that we get a good valve cover in return. We coat the one we have in stock and send it to you. You pull yours off and put the pretty new one on. Then you return your original valve cover to us. Once we inspect it and make sure it is not cracked we refund the $200 back to you.

The service for a single stage color is $50. If you want a candy or extra clear or anything that requires multiple coatings the service is $75. Shipping is never more then $20 with full insurance up to $400.

Turn around time for a cover is usually less than a week (shipping can affect this obviously) for an in stock color.

Shipping from TurboTrix is a day each way. If you want them to send it down we would be happy to get it done ASAP for you.

Probably about $35 with the insurance via USPS priority to Canada.
Customers pays the shipping to return the core to us as well, if you are keeping tabs on costs.

You'd have to pay for them on the way back up to Bean.

I'm leaving in about 20 minutes to hit the dyno up there and just got off of the phone with Bean who's going to a track rental with Brandon's car.

I'll grab that cover off of your car when I get up there.

We have our core in and being washed right now. The waiting list is about 3-4 deep at the moment but with a response like this we will likely splurge and buy another new OEM cover to speed up the wait time.

I like Midnight metallic blue with flakes. I had that paint on one of my bikes.

It can be dirty for a while until it very noticeable.

But would that color flow with a WW?

I think it would look like sex for I have a WW as well and I'm thinking of doing some Pcoats on it as well although I have other things I need to do first like getting the car painted and getting some more parts for I haven't treated her with new gifts in a while although I'm going to put new track tires on her tomorrow maybe but I need to mess with our Pcoater at the shop to see what color I might like to do some of the engine bay with. I was also thinging of doing a lot of carbon accent peaces in the enging bay as well so IDK.

I think that would look sick man I have always loved white cars with black accents. Thats the way I had my S2k I had the valve cover Pcoated with a polished black and a carbon fiber spark plug cover it came out really nice hell I won a few best engine tropies at HIN in FL.

We're going to have to update the terms of the core program as we can't have the core out there for extended periods of time with other people waiting.

From this point on, we'll be requiring that people send the core back out to us within 7 days of receipt. This means that from the date UPS marks the package delivered, we need to have a working tracking # from your shipping company showing that the core is on its way back to us. After that point, there will be a $15 per day subtracted from the core charge that the customer receives back.

This of course, doesn't include shipping time, but we can't have the core out there for weeks when other customers are waiting on it.

If anyone has a deposit on the core right now and doesn't want to agree to these terms, we can issue you a credit back on your deposit. Otherwise, these terms are in effect from this day forward.

Thanks!

1. Pricing can all be found on the website for any possible color combination. Shipping is typically no more then $15 in the lower 48.

2. We haven't seen the Candy Red next to the paint on a RR car yet either so I can't be of too much help. :( We have sold almost a dozen in that color already so someone must have some pics they can share with us.

I have an 08...

I talked to the dealer the other day about getting a new one, and they told me $350.

We're still coating these valve covers. Your best bet during the summer while we're busy is to give us a call (215.997.6850).

We can get new covers (Aluminum) for $275.40 with gasket if you have the composite units.

Thanks!

This is confusing! Are we talking about the Engine Cover, the Spark Plug Cover or the Engine Valve Cover?

These are the valve covers.
