MR. Tim 05-22-2009, 03:01 PM I dont understand how some of these shops are using ECUFlash effectively yet. How are you guys logging load/timing? Without something telling me where im at in the map, how do you know what to adjust?
Great numbers BTW!!
EvoX08 05-22-2009, 04:11 PM Maybe using PCMScan as well?

Baseline stock EVO X read about 240-260 WHP with their dyno
the pink line represents the whp w/ the mods & boost pill and the red line is the final whp after tuning.
and yes it does pull smooth.. thank you.. LOL
ghoney81 05-22-2009, 05:34 PM nice numbers. not to sound like a noob, but where is HB Speed located?
they are located in Fountain Valley, CA
not a noob, they opened last year if I remember correctly
they gained great reps in socal community just in a year
massappeal 05-22-2009, 07:20 PM Ghoneys car is a strong car makes as much power as mine and I am catless! The #'s are WHP and we have been using ecuflash before it was available to the public. My car was one of the first cars with ecuflash back last year;)
before I switched to Cobb AP!
Hope your enjoying the ride G :yay:
3 more Evo x to tune today and we got 4 more tomorrow! woot woot!

It is interesting that the car does not hold more boost by redline with the boost pill. The chart indicates ~17 psi by redline.

I use PCMScan to log Evo Xs. I also use Evoscan to log knock.

Jon tuned the boost down up there,
To much boost was creating to much heat up in that area and the turbo was being unefficient. So no point:drive:

Is it only this car whose turbo was acting inefficiently or is 17 psi the limit of the Evo X turbo. If it is the latter, there does not seem to be a need for the pill because ~18 psi is easily achievable with the stock pill set-up.

Care to give up the correct parameters to configure evoscan to log knock?
on2it 05-24-2009, 07:04 AM great numbers! what was the A/F average?
Looney Tuning 05-25-2009, 03:27 AM Care to give up the correct parameters to configure evoscan to log knock?
Sure...
Here are the parameters that I know work
TPS CAN 1-0
RPM CAN 2-2
Timing CAN 7-0
Knock Retard CAN 11-1
Hope that helps
yota73 05-25-2009, 03:56 AM So how do you get the open source tunes. Also is there a dealer option type reflash that you can get as well?
