: PROBLEM: P2102/P2103 and P1235 code. slow acceleration
nemesis 05-26-2009, 03:03 PM welp bad news..i have had my car for about 2 months and its running badly. i got it tuned a few weeks ago and i was pushing 298 AWHP fully stock but now its not acclerating as fast as it used to and almost feels like a N/A evo. im pretty sure before it got really bad, it was running too much boost that the stock engine could handle. my tuner and i looked at it to try to find a boost leak but we found nothing. he hooked up the computer to see what kind of codes it was throwing and the P1235 code (Mass airflow sensor plausibility) came up like its been doing ever since i got it tuned but this time there was another code..P2102/P21023: Throttle actuator control motor circuit. a few nights ago i had to pull over on the side of the road because it went into LIMP mode and the car literaly almost stalled when it happened. im going to go back to my tuner today to get it reflashed and take off the agency power BOV then probably take it up to mitsu to get it fixed and play dumb and act like i dont know why its running so terribly.. its bothering me because mitsu is going to wonder why its running like this fully stock, hopefully they dont catch anything because if they do im sure they will void my warranty asap. anyone got any suggestions or has had this problem before?
hollywood_X 05-26-2009, 03:12 PM Well since you have been tuned you probably have a count on your ECU, one guy here has already been voided for his so not sure how it will turn out for you. With the problems your discribing they will be checking your ECU no doubt.
Personally I would go to the junk yard and get a $100 MAF and put it on.
nemesis 05-26-2009, 03:15 PM well im going to my tuner today and he has all the stock settings saved so he can put it back to normal. i just think they would find it weird if i took it up there and said i was having problems but there was nothing showing up on the ecu because after the reflash he would have reset all the codes..
hollywood_X 05-26-2009, 03:20 PM It don't matter if he puts the stock settings back on, that will actually show as another flash to the ECU. It counts the number of times it is written to.

Read through this thread, good info.
nemesis 05-26-2009, 03:34 PM :wallbash: great..
Imsoevox 05-28-2009, 01:14 PM Here's the thing..my car was reflashed at the dealer and my tuner was unaware of the sticker under my hood..so when mitsu looked at the ECU, the CVN didn't match the sticker under the hood. I was flashed back with some random X map..not mine.. The CVN is what they look at you should be ok as long as you didn't get flashed at the dealership as soon as you got it..or you have an exact copy of your stock map.. I've talked to other guys that have gotten flash back to stock..and they haven't had problems...I unfortunetly wasn't aware that little sticker makes all the difference..so your tuner should be able to flash it back to stock..I think you'll be safe..but I would talk it over with your tuner first..GOOD LUCK!!
Kooldino 05-28-2009, 01:28 PM Maybe your throttle isn't opening fully....
StevoDaEvo 05-28-2009, 01:30 PM evah, if you need a MAF I got one at the house haha. Matter fact I got a stock EMS too. I help you whatever way I can
gunzo 05-28-2009, 01:33 PM welp bad news..i have had my car for about 2 months and its running badly. i got it tuned a few weeks ago and i was pushing 298 AWHP fully stock but now its not acclerating as fast as it used to and almost feels like a N/A evo. im pretty sure before it got really bad, it was running too much boost that the stock engine could handle. my tuner and i looked at it to try to find a boost leak but we found nothing. he hooked up the computer to see what kind of codes it was throwing and the P1235 code (Mass airflow sensor plausibility) came up like its been doing ever since i got it tuned but this time there was another code..P2102/P21023: Throttle actuator control motor circuit. a few nights ago i had to pull over on the side of the road because it went into LIMP mode and the car literaly almost stalled when it happened. im going to go back to my tuner today to get it reflashed and take off the agency power BOV then probably take it up to mitsu to get it fixed and play dumb and act like i dont know why its running so terribly.. its bothering me because mitsu is going to wonder why its running like this fully stock, hopefully they dont catch anything because if they do im sure they will void my warranty asap. anyone got any suggestions or has had this problem before?
Sorry .. never read that you had it running badly for 2 months ..
Then again .. there is no such code .. you sure you got it correct ??
P2100 IS throttle actuator control motor circuit .. this can be an issue with tuning also
P2101 is throttle magneto fail ..
nemesis 06-09-2009, 05:07 PM Maybe your throttle isn't opening fully....
yea it is my throttle body not opening fully..my tuner said that my TSP is only opening at 75%..i talked to a technician that everyone goes to around here today and he said: "Something is wrong with your electronic throttle body. Hinse the code for the throttle body. The ECU is telling the throttle body to let off the gas even tho you have the pedal to the floor. It's all electronic. He messed up something in the time causing the throttle body to act up."
so now i have a throttle body problem i guess..i took it to the mitsu dealership today and they test drove it a few times and tried to read the ecu for codes but my tuner put all the settings back to factory. so the only way they can fix my problem is for me to tell them the code im throwing and then they will probably void my warranty..so before i tell them what happened, anyone have any other sugestions?
nemesis 06-09-2009, 05:11 PM sorry the code i am throwing is P2100.
nemesis 06-10-2009, 04:43 PM :bump:
hollywood_X 06-10-2009, 05:21 PM Have you switched out your MAF yet? Also re you physically looking that your butterfly valve is only @ 75% open? Because I have yet to see software that gives 100% for WOT, most everything reads it at 80.
Well, if it is back to stock and works fine, the problem is the tune itself. P1235 is the overboost code - they haven't adjusted the maps correctly.
nemesis 06-10-2009, 09:07 PM i see, thanks for the help. i think i got it figured out now.
Rogue 06-12-2009, 02:49 PM What did you do?
nemesis 06-19-2009, 03:49 PM my car is finally fixed! all it needed was a re-tune from mitsu.:dancebanana:
Rogue 06-19-2009, 03:51 PM you mean you got reflashed.
meat_EVO 06-19-2009, 03:54 PM my car is finally fixed! all it needed was a re-tune from mitsu.:dancebanana:
now you can have the tuner pull that map, and adjust that map for your tune.
nemesis 06-19-2009, 05:58 PM hell yea, ill be coming home around the 4th of july but im not sure if im gonna drive yet, its a 12 hour drive that im not really wanting to take, ill probably just fly and get it tuned later.
