I finally got tuned at Cobb Tuning in Salt Lake City. The tuners was knowledgeable and did a great job with my car. I bought the AP to make sure the car wasn’t knocking. I was wondering why my numbers were so low, but then I realized that it was a Mustang Dyno. Numbers don’t do it justice, the car feels awesome. I would highly recommend Cobb Tuning to anyone in the area. I was a little sketchy about it, but I’m going back as soon as I get my meth kit and the AMS Downpipe. On with the chart:
Mods:
AMS Intake
AMS FMIC
ETS Lower pipe
Bushur Upper pipe
UR Resonated Test Pipe
HKS Legamax Exhaust & Midpipe

Its not only because its a Mustang Dyno but because of the ungodly high elevation there. So far everyone I have heard of that has had their car Dyno'd there is getting low numbers but what matters is the comparision from base line to tuned. One thing I do notice is the tune says 25psi for boost but the max on the table is 26psi. Are you taking the car back to a lower elevation somewhere?

This is exciting to hear. I just placed an order for the HKS Legamax ehaust with centerpipe and the Cobb AP. Tell me, how do you like the exhaust? I am coming out of an Evo IX with a Tanabe Concept G Blue exhaust with testpipe and I quickly got tired of being so damn loud. I decided to go with the HKS because I ready many review saying how close to stock it was but just a touch deeper. I'll be running mine with a RRE Rally can so I know it will be a little louder but not crazy. To me exhausts and wheels are a lot alike. It's always been hard for me to choose because you never really know how the wheels will look until you've paid for them and they're on your car, and you never really know exactly how an exhaust will sound until you've purchased it and installed it. I've always crazy nervious that I'm gonna hate it lol. You have absolutely made my day with the info about this exhaust and cobb ap...I can't wait to get mine custom tuned for 91 and 100!

No I think it's a typo. The car does hit 26 psi and I'm not taking the car to a lower elevation.

You won’t be disappointed with the HKS exhaust. I wanted something quiet that still performed so I went with the HKS Legamax. It’s just a bit louder than stock and is sounds deep and beautiful if you put on a test pipe.

Nice! Just thought I'd share an email I got from a tuner shop about this exhaust. I'm not going to say the name but form your own opinion. I thought it was kinda weak sauce.... Edited out the pricing.

Sorry for the delay. if you want the HKS it is $$$+tax. That includes the "center pipe". I am guessing that is the test pipe. If you aren't dead set on that HKS I have brand new in the box Megan Racing exhausts with test pipe for $$$+tax. The look is the same for less money(blue color on the tip). HKS parts don't really make good power anyway. (look at their cams, junk) But, I will do whatever you want, after all it's your car. If you want the HKS exhaust it would be special order and I will need to get money in advance. If you want the Megan exhaust and an AEM intake (CARB legal) the package is $$$$ +tax and is here ready for pick-up. Let me know which direction you want to go and I'll make it happen.

I always thought HKS made great stuff!? Expensive, yes sometimes, but still quality.

Wow! This guy is full of shit. He just wants to sell you what he has in-stock. I personally wouldn't do business with somebody like that. He has no idea that HKS quality is second to none, expensive but you get what you pay for. The HKS exhaust is only a 2.5" exhaust, but that's plenty. The only reason why you would need a bigger pipe is if you were shooting for some serious horsepower (which I'm not). I’ve been very happy with my exhaust and I know it performs. You will feel the difference as soon as you put it on. Quality parts give you ponies, not loud 3” exhausts. Besides I’m sure there are plenty of companies that have this exhaust in stock so you don’t have to wait for it.

I was thinking of you when he posted this... lol
Didn't they give you some excuse on why you couldn't be tuned at a higher target boost? Plus they told you that you couldn't use any kind of octane booster right? You must have just shown up on a bad day for them or something.

no.... what was said was.... 22 PSI was safer for my car. at higher boost levels it wasnt doing any good (dont remember exact conversation). He did say that additives were a no-no. i did email him to get my map revised for the lower elevation and for 93 oct instead of 91. i dont know what the deal is. maybe you should just figure out your (thing) and then ill be happy lol

I don’t know what to tell you Joey I was tuned by the same guy you did (John). He asked me who did all the installs in my car and was surprised when I told him I did everything myself. He told me the car felt solid and could easily push more than 312whp if I wanted to, but I’ll rather wait until I get the rest of my mods. He was very knowledgeable and a nice guy too. Next time I go I’ll ask for him again cuz I feel like he did a great job on my car.

yeah he was a nice guy and knows what hes talking about but i just cant understand the numbers. then i got an email from him yesterday saying that he thought i wasnt going to ask for a revision cause of the bashing i did on him on evom. i havent posted on that site since late April and i got tuned in May. i dont know what the deal is with him but i hope my last email got it figured out. if not then i guess ill just go to Surgeline.

^sounds like a simple misunderstanding....no worries!

I should have that HKS Legamax exhaust and Cobb AP midweek! I can't wait! I took the car out this evening to hear how it sounds stock one last time before install. So I've read that there are beta versions or updates that I'll have to install on the AP before I use it? Is that simple to do just following the directions on their website? Any tips?
