The engine behind the Mine's Ultimate Response R34 derives from Tomei and they are arguably the best engine builders in Japan. I can't wait, it's like a new chapter in the 4B11 book is about to open.
Ultimateone 06-04-2009, 04:22 AM It will probably cost as much as a house
LVSBB6 06-04-2009, 05:00 AM I had tomei parts in my previous nissans and they rock1! can't wait for the official release :)
rageagtm 06-04-2009, 06:10 AM price guesstimates? i'm going 11k?
SmokinX 06-04-2009, 06:14 AM I have been waiting to see what Tomei is doing for the X since it came out! Guess I gotta start working a lot of overtime...
Clipse3GT 06-04-2009, 06:20 AM I wonder how much that turbo will run...
The ARMS turbo goes for $1780 for the 4g63. Umm link here (http://www.tomeipowered-usa.com/usa/arms/m7960/m7960.htm) with descriptions and dyno charts. I'm guessing it will be ~$2000 for the 4B11?

Thanks, looks like it might be a better choice if you want an all-around great turbo. I mean for the same price you can get a Garrett with issues currently.
+1 for TOMEI
Now have to wait for some numbers.
boostin20 06-04-2009, 03:48 PM I'm guessing that engine will be $12-13k. Great news about Tomei!
DaemonSadi 06-04-2009, 04:09 PM Awesome vid thanks for posting!
I'm looking forward to seeing the final results on this kit...

Ak our stock turbo is a TD05HA-152G6-12T.
It has aluminum compressor wheels and titanium aluminum alloy turbine wheels. It has a 12 hot-side and a 152G compressor housing.

Did I miss the mention of a summer launch somewhere in the video?
Summer is here, waiting impatiently...

fishstix 06-07-2009, 06:09 AM That sounds very expensive... + labor.
Oh god
boostin20 06-07-2009, 11:49 AM That sounds very expensive... + labor.
Oh god
Come on, the long block will only be half the price of a new evo. It's not bad, you could get two.
ERIX09 06-07-2009, 08:21 PM Come on, the long block will only be half the price of a new evo. It's not bad, you could get two.
Ohh ok, I'll take 3 then thank you :yay::p:confused2::freak:
Antilag 06-07-2009, 10:15 PM So how many 7-11's will i have to rob to afford their longblock + entire turbo system?
ERIX09 06-07-2009, 10:52 PM So how many 7-11's will i have to rob to afford their longblock + entire turbo system?
Need a Co-pilot/Co-Robber :godance::$::$::$::$::$: Let me Know!!
fishstix 06-08-2009, 03:27 AM How much HP does this thing give? Is it more about the reliability and quality than just the power produced?
Yes they are about efficiency, balance, max torque and overall power-band response. Jtuners' primary goal isn't all-out power like most of the US.

And that's why I loves them sooo much <3
-Evolved Boost- 06-08-2009, 03:21 PM im guessing this is a 20g like the VIII's & IX's. So this should have a really nice powerband and some nice pump gas numbers.

Poncams are just waste of money .. :dancebanana:
Not that high a lift with not that long a duration for not that much of power gain .. but at double the price :D
FYI the cams are similiar to the Kelford As .. which is tomei's traditional cam supplier :p
I'm more interested in their turbo outlet though :bowlol:

My sentiments exactly. Cosworth cams seem to be the best compromise in lift and duration currently plus they use back stock springs too.
I would still wait for a 270/270 11.5 lift Procam, assuming they follow the Evo 9's design.

finally some products got released!! i was hoping that the EXT. header would be released so to complete the exhaust system!
cams have less profile than the cosworth! maybe it was ment for stock turbo or stock like characteristics aftermarket turbo?!
what about the pricing?!?!
EvoFreak527 10-10-2009, 04:46 PM I am really looking forward to see what this turbo does, and that exhasut system looks sick!!!:hititsign:

http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogue/000_expreme/each-product/each-product_img/evo_4-9_outlet-component/evo_789_outlet3.jpg
Hmm.. is this what you are expecting for the X? If so, the sales guy told me that Tomei wouldn't be making any
turbo outlet AKA O2 downpipe units as they tested various aftermarket units such as the AMS one and found them
to be extremely difficult to surpass in terms of design or performance.
I guess we have to content with just the Ti test pipe + ExpremeTi and probably ARMs combo in future.

On paper, I think the Poncams are currently probably the safest (least performing) cams you can get for the X but trust Tomei to have tested them extensively to have came up with this design combination.
Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if they outperform Cosworth cams on a similar stock setup in reality.
The price for the X Poncams mentioned to me is about the MSRP of an Evo 9's Poncam unit.. About USD $640
The price of the ExpremeTi mentioned to me is roughly USD $1380

im sure we'll see comparison charts between cosworth and tomei very soon!
those prices u mentioned are official or just speculations?
Antilag 10-10-2009, 11:34 PM The 4G63 Longblock MSRP is $23,500.00 USD...
I guess the 4B11 will be near that price. For the price of the Evo X + longblock + turbo kit + all other supporting mods, clutch, fuel, labor, etc, i'd rather buy the GTR with an AccessPort and still probably outperform the Evo.

Countdokoo 10-11-2009, 02:17 AM those prices u mentioned are official or just speculations?
Not official USA MSRP but a conversion from Singapore dollar of what's quoted to me at the show.
Is upgrading this motor really worth it? Yeah I know that its strong and shit but the stock block seems to be no slouch either. I mean Stevodaevo only did 500 something with his 2.35 and ETS hit well over 600. How long will it last? No idea. Just wondering if you really need this

I agree. I'll take the GTR over throwing thousands at X.
EvoIBM 10-11-2009, 05:06 AM I'm pretty sure Ryan Gates whooped a GT-R on one of his last races... And that GT-R was no slouch either. Just saying.

even if u pay those thousands of dollar, still you wont reach the amount of money spent on buying a stock GTR!
GTR retails for about :$::$::$:78K, while the evo x retails for about :$:34K!
that leaves you with more than 40 K margin for modification!
and 40K can get you more than a fully built engine!
i highly doubt that a GTR with FULL bolton's and an ECU reflass would out perform a good build X.
moreover dont forget if you'll decide on modifying a GTR thats mega :$::$::$::$: from your wallet for only bolt on's!
anyways thats my opinion

intresting prices! the exhaust is terrific , i might consider buying one, when it gets to dubai.
but the for the cams, ill stick with cosworth

I love how Dubai has no restrictions whatsoever on what exhaust you can install onto the car. Enjoy the ExpremeTi without bothersome coppers behind ya!
+1 on Cosworth 266

it generally depends on the indiviual policeman perception of how loud the car is!

I have a strait pipe on my car now. The pedal on the right, in addition to providing throttle requests from you ECU, also serves as a volume control.
Sean@DSG 10-12-2009, 10:03 PM That is once serious exhaust! Looking forward to carrying that, I'm going to have to get one for myself ... :theeye:
