Does anyone know where I can get the pin kit for the center diff. so I don't have to go through buschur for the upgrade? Note, I don't want the link to the only other diff. pin thread.

did you ever find a pin kit? Or dimensions on what the correct size pins would be?

Boostin give shep a call, I'm sure that's where they came from anyway.

I called shep today to ask them if they do stuff like that. They said that they had a fix for it, but would not go into detail. I'm curious to know what they do as well. As far as buschur goes, you can order them through buschur; however, if it has ANY damage, it has to be machined and you will have to go with the bigger pins (yes there are two sizes) and will have to send the diff out anyways. I'm thinking of sending mine to shep just so that they can look everything over, fix anything out of the norm, maybe make it shift smoother, and do the modification that they do to make the pins no issue anymore. They said it should be under a grand depending on the tranny and then the shipping and labor to take out and put back in at your local shop.

Who is shep?

John shepherd has been a legend in import drag racing for ever. He has the fastest awd drag car, and practicaly fathered The fastest awd drag racing cars. He is most famous for his top notch transmission work. The fastest cars out there have his transmissions. You may remember his talon.

If you need a big beefey trans you go see shep end of story.

Noob questions - learning more each day. whats a pin kit? and how will it help shifting? may it in anyway contribute to helping my 2nd gear from grinding?

The pins are in the lsd. Something different. Synchros may be the culprit with the shifting. Mine is bad and I've even gone to better fluid. I'm going to have shep mess with them too.

Check out www.jackstransmissions.com (http://www.jackstransmissions.com) , they offer a full rebuild including the pins. A lot of good stuff on the sight about the new EVO X transmission vs evo 8-9

I've heard of a coulple of guys with RS Xs who've just welded the oe pins to the diff and abused them very hard since with no issues, easily reversed if they need to come out, mine will be getting this treatment soon too :)

Check out www.jackstransmissions.com (http://www.jackstransmissions.com)

They don't mention offering the final drive change, which is something that many drag racers are doing. It's cool that they offer a transfer case rebuild.

interesting,

Is the pin issue mainly for those that drag their cars?

They will eventually break from launching the car. If you enjoy your 2-step then it's just a matter of time.

I am so pleased I live close to both Buschur and Shep; the thought of pulling my transmission and sending it off to get serviced makes me sick. Yikes.
