reflashed stock 370z adds 11whp and 10wtq to the new z...not bad i guess...

i think the 370z nismo edition has like 350hp...if that had a reflash it could be more like 370hp or so? i've heard this thing is a beast around the track tho...too bad its not so practical, maybe a good alternative would be the G37 :D

On a side note the next door neighbor has a blue 370z and she curbed checked the hell out of it the first week she had it. She came in the neighborhood to fast and slide into the curb. Her husband, has a 2008 roush stage 3, was super pissed.

the new 370 is a beast, I had a 350z and it was boring as hell but that was back in 03 and my god has it changed.

they used the very slow fq300......its the MR for here. it did the same time as the SUBARU which is not normal. 0-62.....MR...5.5....gsr...4,7....so right there youre getting out .8 sec on the track time of the evo.

and by the way.....the 370z is really not a beast. the 40hp difference between an evo and the 370z is a big difference....our stock 291hp is just enough to make the car SEEM to be fast....a 330hp...make our car BE FAST.lol.

I used to have a X and now I have a 370... but seriously.. how many evos are going to be running stock? and how many 370s will be stock? me thinks for every severely modded Z there will be 10 equally modded Evo Xs lol... so its not really apples to apples... stock is the only fair way to compare... but you can take solace in the fact that the FQ400 will annhilate everything else there haha

Both look to be great cars. I love my new X! I'm glad it is my daily driver.

Its the SST equiped version in over there. It had GSR wheels and package with the SST transmission. If you watch the old video the launch was terrible. Almost laughable. Im betting it didnt even get to 60 by 6 secs.

Please don't think 370z isnt as fast or good around track because I have drivin one around a track and It is better then the current evo x gsr i own right now. But on snow/rain it will be a differnt story. 370z was well made tough.

They didn't use the fq-360 for their lap though. They used a FQ-300 for the lap around their track. When they did the STI vs EVO X show they drove the fq-360 around but when it came time for the lap they said it wouldn't be fair to use the FQ-360 for comparison so instead they used the FQ-300.

Yes they do, just not everywhere. The highest HP SST Mitsu sells is the FQ 330, and that car is relatively new.

Interestingly enough, I just saw a gray 370z today. It was MUCH better to look at it in person because it was pretty low and wide ride close up. But it was the same feeling that I had when i first saw 350z... It may end up the same way when 370z is available everywhere and all the chicks(older women) are driving again(z convertibles)

That is just my opinion, but really, I know that evo x is a fast car and I really dont care how other cars can beat it on the track sometime. I bought an evo because it wanted to own one for just being an evo... I really don't care what care beats what. Congrats nissan, you may have done it again for the street crowd.

I drove one too and while it may be faster than my old ss camaro I had in a straight line and handle great, it can't beat modded evos like it can the stock mr/gsr. Twin turbo it and it would be a beast though. The trannies are having probs already as well as burning alot of oil too. Not that the evo doesn't have any issues.

On the earlier evos the clutch's had problems so Mitsubishi fixed them and Nissan did same thing for 370z they fixed the oil heating issue not long after, and the transmission problem is all the haters hating on nissan cars. I own a evo IX and a 350z, i drive them like crazy nothing happened to them its just when the internet rumors start, people start believing it without any proof or anything. I never trust the internet I buy the car, drive it and see. Different cars different life style.

^^I don't think any one here was hateing on the Z here. We were discussing what has always been discussed about the time that was posted from that video. The launch on the MR is usually .5+secs slower than the GSR model. That is all that was said. Once the car is rolling the SST has been shown to be very fast, but if you are doing a lap from a stop you are instantly handicaped by .5 secs and thats with a great launch. I think the 370 is a great car especially with the sync shifting, and even if you subtract 0.5 secs from the Evos time the 370 still wins by .2 secs. For us normal drivers less than second difference wont really matter.

listen to the people that know what their talking about. if you watch the evo vs sti episode for the power lap they chose to use the fq-300 (which is the same evo we get over here) because it would be more fair against the sti...so this time went on the board...its nice to not know everything all the time..try it sometime

Well Topgear is the only testers that shows the evo and STI having nearly the same lap times where as everyone else(other magazines, etc.) show the evo as a faster car. I'm wondering if the clutch was slipping or something on their evo.

a) I never ever said "the 370z sucks" so don't type my words for me.
b) I see what you're saying, but if you can't believe what you read on the internet, then I guess we should all get off right? Really, I think we just need to reevaluate our sources and verify they're a reliable source. I don't think I can agree that nissan is above toyota and honda in reliability also. I did drive it and did like it. I didn't get it due to the dealer being dicks, so I went to other dealers that would do what nissan wouldn't. Them being mitsu and lexus. I now have two new cars; one of which would have been a nissan if they wouldn't have messed up. So, in closing, don't think I'm biased just because I drive an evo.

I will say. I just did one of those build your own 370Z. A fully loaded Nismo looks pretty sweet. The 39k price tag is not to bad considering what you get with it as far as extra tweaks go. If this car would have been out at the same time the Evo would have been it would have made it a tough decision I think.

I'm quite surprised the Z did so well, although the X did have an awful start, no launch control there!!! I've had 2 350s, had my name down for the 370, but as soon as I saw pictures, the short wheelbase and messy swoops and curves I bailed out and bought my X, absolutely no regrets, 370z is a pig :( loved my 350z s :)

nah, I really hate the way it looks, I was so dissaponted, the rear is just unforgiveable!! I've no doubt it'll be a great drive though, but the 350 was beautiful to me, I'm relieved I got out of my order!
