Alright everyone, before you go any further, make sure you've read this:

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, I would like to introduce to everyone the August Monthly Evo X Member Contest! This month's theme is a 1 month mileage contest. Essentially, whoever drives their Evo X the most miles this month wins!

Make sure you've read the rules in the above link

What you will need to do is submit a picture of your odometer, with username and date. Then, on the 31st, you will submit another picture with your ending mileage for the month. Most miles driven wins! This is not the most overall miles on your car, but the total miles driven this month.

Now on to the good stuff, the goodies for the winning entry! The winner of this months contest will recieve:

i think that powdercoated valve cover looks great with that spark plug cover, but i feel its almost sacrelegious to paint it without rebuilding the entire engine block.

I'm not sure I understand your question... but no it's not a valve cover, just a spark plug cover. It would look very good with a powder coated valve cover. You can DIY or have a shop do it, but either way, it makes the engine bay look terrific.

He means a paint spark plug cover would look good with a painted vc... A painted coil cover on the a stock vc looks ok compared to it

lol i don't think i'll come close to anyone with a week of no driving. I did take the pic so just for the hell of it i'll post up till the 15th. Then 22nd-31st i guess haha. Maybe i'll drive my car down the shore now...that will put some decent miles on it...about 150miles each way even though i wont drive much down there.

Hahaha, well aren't I just special then? I'm full of win in this thread, haha. Ya I get that when I turn the car to on but I don't start the motor. Also that is the light I get when my rear O2 freaks out because of it being in a test pipe. I have never actually gotten the "check engine" light to come on. Only the SES...

EDIT: I just noticed in your pic the SES I have replaces the "engine" logo. Maybe it's a CDM and USD difference? What do other owners have?

Wierd, my CEL is in the same spot, and my CEL goes on with things like O2 sensors.

Do all US Xs have this? Maybe the Canadian model is different.

Ya I just edited my post. At first glance I was like "Hmm maybe your CEL is above the SES light" but then I looked at your pic closer and saw the "engine" and SES light are in the same spot. I think it's a USDM and CDM difference.

Just to clear things up... The SES and "Check Engine" light (AKA CEL) mean exactly the same thing. It doesn't matter if it's a picture of an engine or the letters SES. I've seen some that actually spell it out, "Service Engine Soon".
Anyway, I'll be posting mine up as soon as I upload the pic.

Haha no, only confusion is why. I mean it's a world car and hell wired for everything to be plug and play even if your car doesn't come with a certain accessory so why have a different gauge cluster. I mean it's a slight difference but still.

Yep, no confusion. Only intrigue.

I had figured that the Engine icon (like in my photo) was how the USDM models were as well, since the only difference between them seemed to be a different faceplate to have the speedo in KPH.

I was just surprised to see a different CEL!

My Evo passed 10k!! I'm over 10,300.. can't remember exactly where tho.. i've done a lot of miles over the past week but I'm def not sustaining these miles .. which is why i would have liked those extra 200+ miles i did on monday & tuesday before i took the picture of my mileage..:duh:

I think I have almost 2000 since the first. I went to the middle of wisconsin, back to clinton IA, back to the middle of wisconsin then back home here to STL. averaged 23.8 at about 82mph too.

well it gonna be a close one... I am going to be in NJ on friday.. I will be attending the shootout. than drive up to canada. come down and party in NY finally making my way back to NJ for the BBQ. Finally the drive home to florida.

Than 3days later I am going to drive the evo to pensacola and and back. So I should have at least 4000+ miles within the next 14days

Mine used to be like that, about 45-50 IIRC, plus every weekend a 120 mile trip each way for the girlie. Me and the Evo spent a lot of quality time together :shades:

i would have most likely put 5-6k on my car this month... now my car sits in a body shop.

I was not able to take a picture or my car, but the odo was a little more than 18k miles... as of yesterday, so If I do not get my car back, I will stand at 18k miles for the month of august.
