got my 3GS 2 weeks ago. Thought id share a ring I converted.
you will need to use SSH to edit out of your phones root.

Extract the "sms-received1.caf" into System>Library>Audio>UISounds.
overwrite it and restart your iPhone.
you dont need wifi to network your phone either.
i use Winscp with iTunnel and ssh on my phone. you can download ssh off of cydia. The .caf extension can be played using Quicktime.

ill attach some more .mp3 files that i liked for the rest of you guys.

i included the jailbreak software for 3GS users running 3.0 as well as Winscp and iTunnel.
its all in the .zip attached.

Anyways, id like to dedicate this thread to all of you who'd be interested in sharing tones with the community here.

That's a technical post for some ringtones!

haha its really not that technical. Just different for iPhone users if they want them as SMS notifications :p

I just loaded this onto my Samsung Glyde on Verizon.
Very easy process:
- Send an email with the mp3 attached to your phone. Format: #########@vzwpix.com (substitute your 10-digit phone number for the #'s). Not sure what the format is for other carriers. To find out, send a multimedia message from your phone to your email address.
- When you receive the message, hit the options and save the sound as a ringtone.

This should work for most phones which are MP3 capable.
