I have a hook up on a new set of these, probably going to end up spending around 1650 total, any reason to look else where before i spend this (considerable to me) chunk of change?

1650 is a crazy deal thats about 25% off dont think you'll find a deal like that anywhere else. But I'd go for non-sport. its a more livable ride unless you have a track only car

That is a crazy deal, but as smooth says that suspension on the street will jar your bones loose. Stick with the non sports if your car is a DD.

FYI the non Sports can be had for that price if you look around:innocent:

I got the "street" version, I assumed it was sport and the other was "pro"

so basically I got the same deal anyone else can get?

well 1650 to Alaska (shipping was 175) seemed like a damn good deal to me, but i wanted to make sure I am not missing out on robi spec or something else that I should be going for,

my hook up said the cost was the same for both, but the valving on the non "street" version wouldn't be worth it as it would wear out much faster on the street and be a harsh ride.

Yea, there are 2 versions hypermax III sport and just hypermax III. The sports are the "race" version to use on soft pavement.

Dam for 1650 shipped to alaska he sold those to you for under cost lol. My close friend is a hks dealer(baised on his discount)

The lowest price i have seen for them by a vendor pm is right about where you were so, you did pretty good.

You will like the suspension a lot :)

I don't think the non-sport ones have camber plates.

You are correct sir! No camber plates on the non sports.

What camber plate would you guys recommend with the use of the non-sport or kw's or any suspension that does not come with camber plates?

None of the Hipermax 3 (sport or street) have camber plates. I am running the street and the ride is stiff anywhere above 10 clicks from soft. I can imagine the Sport being really unforgiving in street driving.

On track, the Street performs well. Higher spring rates would be better on track but it's not bad.

For $1650, you got a slamming deal...

I don't plan on lowering it more than the 1" drop it comes with so camber shouldn't be an issue right?

The only reason you would want camber plates is to dial in more camber for cornering performance on track/autocross etc. For normal driving, it is fine and you can get up to 2 degrees negative camber by the front adjustment bolt alone.

Very good deal on those coilovers.

I'm not a good enough driver for that kind of stuff yet, so i'll cross that bridge when i'm ready for it

hell I could probably still squeeze some time out of the stock suspension, but its so spongy and there's way too much body roll, had to do something!

coil overs are awsome, the car behaves completely different on the road now, I LOVE IT!

I put some huge spacers on though, now my tires in the back rub a little when I go over bumps (it looks like the back was lowered more than the front, i didnt change what set at).

so i guess i'll roll the rear fenders

how big are the spacers?

I just got the Hipermax III Sport Coilovers a few weeks ago and just had them installed about 2 weeks ago. The main and only difference between the two, according to HKS USA, are the camber plates. I just paid $1706.25, which is dealer cost, so i am thinking you were miss quoted because the NON-Sport model is $1571.25 (dealer cost). Either way, they are a great set-up!

the valving is different too, and will wear out much faster on the street.

and I did mean the NON-sport when I posted, (at the time i figured it was "sport" and "pro" for the two versions).

I'll post some pics tonight, the spacers were from a honda guy i know, they have to be a good 1" thick, the car looks great with em though, the tire is right at the fender.

had to pull some dsm experience outta my hat...

rolled the fenders with a 2" pipe in the back, no more rubbing ;) there's probably a good 1/8th inch clearance back there when the suspension compresses

if you look at this picture, see the little lip behind the tape measure?
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64/zTargeTz/tiregap.jpg
its plastic or something, got crushed and mangled by the pipe as i rolled the fender, i guess its just where the metal transitions to plastic??

Just did an AutoX event, finished 3 seconds slower than a GTR (GTR= 48.xx Me=51.xx) with basicaly a tune and coilovers, so they work very nice ;)
