So, after the dealership replaced the long block, the front engine cover was leaking. They fixed that and then the seal around the bolt on the oil feed line to the turbo was leaking. They replaced the seals and all was good. And now there are, yet again, fresh drops of oil in my driveway. :wallbash:

oil leaks are self inflicted..not cool man, if you cant seal your engine than that is your fault not the machine

Yup, took care of mine... But did you happen to check out what the fix was on this particular tsb? lol, They just gooped on a ton of sealant.... Wow. Hopefully that'll buy them some time to come out with a REAL fix... Like maybe a better fitting cover? :duh:

Wow, that sucks. Tell them to do a dye test next time to see all the places the oil is coming from instead of just assuming the first leak they find is the only one.

Not to thread hijack, but my mitsu has a rear main seal leak. i'm trading it in roughly in 1-2 months. Has anyone ever tried the liquid sealant stuff? will it work for a small leak? less than a drop in 48 hours. Trying to just make it until I trade it in. Closest place for warranty work is 5 hours away.

OIL LEAK FROM TIMING CHAIN (http://www.alldatapro.com/alldata/PRO~V133081787~C45325~R0~OD~N/0/128809663/133171512/136768543/136768545/34853741/100411974/34853743/56492475) CASE
PURPOSE
An oil leak from the front of the engine may be seen on some affected vehicles. If diagnosis confirms that the leakage is coming from the area where the timing chain (http://www.alldatapro.com/alldata/PRO~V133081787~C45325~R0~OD~N/0/128809663/133171512/136768543/136768545/34853741/100411974/34853743/56492475) case, engine block and cylinder head meet, the condition may be due to a misapplication of sealant during assembly.
This Technical Service Bulletin provides instruction to remove the water pump (http://www.alldatapro.com/alldata/PRO~V133081787~C45325~R0~OD~N/0/128809663/133171512/136768543/136768545/34853741/100411974/34856156/34856543), clean and prepare the surface where the oil leak is seen, and apply sealant to the affected area.
