: Boostsaves Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT,HKS Camp 2, and F-con Vpro Thread
boostsaves 08-30-2009, 02:10 AM Hello all,
I currently have the Tech package in my MR. Obviously that includes the Rockford nav system. My goal is to buy the Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT, since i can bypass the aux in motion problem, while hooking up the Hks camp2, and F-con Vpro all in perfect harmony.

I would like to buy, and set up the HKS camp 2 system. For those of you who live under a rock, this is what it is.

and this to keep the speakers, amp, and sub working
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41pBQ8ziYPL._SL500_AA280_.jpg
Since i would like to keep my steering wheel controls and my current rockford system i would need
http://www.pac-audio.com/UserImages/SWI-PS.jpg (http://www.pac-audio.com/UserImages/SWI-PS.jpg)
And lastly this dash kit
http://i3.ebayimg.com/03/i/001/19/d6/4ffa_35.JPG
Is there anything I'm leaving out? I want this install to be complete as possible. I would like to retain as much stock crap as i can, and leave everything as close to factory setup as can be. That includes heat shrink wrap and solder evrything.
The unit also comes with a rearview camera. I do not think I will add HD radio, and or Sirius since i drive like 6 miles to work, and have plenty of mp3's.
If anyone in the nj,pa,ny area has done a pioneer nav install on a x, and would like to give me a hand i would hook you up for your time!.

Yup, Just sent emails out for prices. Waiting to hear back from a few people.
I would need to see if there is a market for the stock mmcs and sirius unit. From what i saw i think there is.
DVDee 08-31-2009, 04:58 PM You can get the OEM RS radio kit which is OEM and will match better than this one. Although this one fits better than the metra kit.
PROJEKX 08-31-2009, 05:04 PM I just got the ECLIPSE AVN-726E (Multimedia Unit of the year). It is one bad A$$$$ unit. I am also running the Plug N Play harness for the AMP turn on ($179 MSRP, got it for $109 on Amazon) and i just installed the CAMP2 last week :) to display my FCON iS and change maps!

I have heard/seen the Scosche dash kit has had great success. I will be using that product.

The eclipse seems like a great unit. the screen is very nice, and crutchfield offers a 3 year warranty on the unit. I will keep it in mind, but right now I'm waiting on all the hks stuff to get finalized before i grab anything.
I have always like Pioneer products. For me I want something as close to the MMCS or better. The Pioneer has voice control for the Nav,stereo, and I pod/I phone control. I like that the unit has 2 separate flash memory places. One for the Nav, and the other for user supplied music.
PROJEKX 09-01-2009, 06:05 AM Well i just got an email today from my "HKS Pro Dealer" and here's what it said:
"
TJ,
Jon from HKS is swaying me away from using the Fcon on the Evo X. He is saying that there are issues with the factory ecu going into limp mode because the simulation of the factory sensors such as MAF, MAP, etc. He does not have those calibrations, and to his knowledge other dealers have not gotten the Fcon 100% successfully working yet. Also the harness that is available now is still the JDM harness, so fitment is not known the way that the harness is made. I am going to look into the IS and see what it can and cant do. I am not familiar with it at all, and dont know anyone that uses it.
Thanks.
So i am scrambling to find out more about these "limp modes" with the V PRO. I have everything in my possesion, EVO X Harness, Sensors and adapters. The only thing i dont have is the FCON, because i am not 100% sure if i am going with the VPRO or iS...

Very interesting read indeed. I think Ivey was the only to install a HKS Fcon-Vpro on a us spec car(the esx time attack car) If there is any pesky things going on with limiters, and cel's he is the person to ask. If he can get a car running great with 670 Hp, he can get my 400 hp working just fine :)
LVSBB6 09-01-2009, 06:22 AM How did you bypass the aux in motion problem?? I have been waiting an answer for this since day one.

Aux in motion has not been solved with the MMCS, just the dvd in motion. I'm just going to buy the Pioneer, since i know how to do the bypass.
It consists of moving the Yellow wire one pin on the harness, and grounding 2 wires out. avic411.com has the corerect procedure in the hacks section of the forum.
boostsaves 09-01-2009, 11:36 PM Wahoo, just ordered the pioneer avic z110bt. Should be here in the next few days.
I am looking at the jdm dash since I think the aftermarket dashes look like crap. For someone who knows like (wests) is it just the standard double din jdm dash right, and not the wide version? I think the wide version is for the stock mmcs?
boostsaves 09-03-2009, 12:12 AM Ups says the pioneer unit will arrive on Friday :)
aevo86 09-03-2009, 02:26 PM sounds like a great idea.good luck
boostsaves 09-03-2009, 10:26 PM Thanks, It should be a great. I will do plenty of how to's when all this stuff gets in.
Talked to ivey. We are going to test out everything When my car gets out of the body shop.

Yea, my unit had dual video in, aka vid 1 vid 2 plus a seperate iPod control.
boostsaves 09-06-2009, 02:25 AM Unit got here yesterday. Just got an chance to unbox it:godance:

PROJEKX 09-06-2009, 03:05 AM Quick ?
What made you go with the Pioneer?
And did you order the PnP harness from AMAZON??? its cheap there. i think i paid $109

Really, that SUCKS! ECLIPSE is just a ground wire for the E-Brake:godance:

NO NO NO, thats so you can LISTEN TO MUSIC while in CAMP2 mode:dancebanana: :dancebanana: :dancebanana:

Well, quite a few factors actually.
1. I can control i pod, navigation, and stereo all by voice.
2. The unit can use MSN direct
3. I like the AVIC feeds software. I can edit splash Screens, icons, poi, and map data all in a simple to use yet effective program.
4. Nav data is held by a separate 4 gig sd card. The unit also has a front SD outlet for music separate from the Navi outlet.
5. The unit can have 4 video sources. Ipod,Input1,Input2,rearview cam
The only things really that the eclipse is better in is warrenty, and screen quality. I have always been a fan of Pioneer products.
Are you talking about the metra mt-02? If so no I did not order it yet. I have found it for $78.
Really, that SUCKS! ECLIPSE is just a ground wire for the E-Brake:godance:
Yea it's not bad at all. Move one wire one pin over on the harness, and ground two wires. Not a deal breaker.
NO NO NO, thats so you can LISTEN TO MUSIC while in CAMP2 mode:dancebanana: :dancebanana: :dancebanana:
The audio warning function on the camp 2 with this head unit can overstep the music just like your nav turn by turn can step over your music.
Rogue 09-07-2009, 01:35 AM When do you think you are going to have this installed. I am looking to order a nav and hks camp this week. Who are you all ordering the HKS from....

Eh, maybe a few weeks. Still pricing everything out. I have to get my car back from the body shop first.

Have you ever thought of using a car pc? EvoScan is out now with v2.6 and working well. and Centrafuse is absolutely amazing :)
just thought id ask. You'd save a bit more money.
evo=ms3killa 09-07-2009, 06:52 PM Were did you get the plug and play harness for you to use the stock system

I assume you are talking about the Rockford fosgate system. The MIT-02 can be found anywhere really. The best price I found was on amazon. Search for it on google and use the shopping links there.
Rogue 09-08-2009, 01:38 AM So if you were to recommend a Navi just for the purpose of music and to run the camp2 what would you say. I have the RF system, so I am not going to go past that for sound modifications. I wanna have the blue tooth, nav, ipod control, and maybe voice, but i do not need a audiophile system.

Well, that is all up to you what you want manufacturer wise. I happen to like Pioneer units a lot. If you don't want all the bells, and whistles I would get the AVIC-X910BT. It has a 5.8inch screen which is a little smaller then the AVIC z110bt, but still retains some great features that the higher priced Z does. The X910BT can be found for under $800 if you look for it. Also you can look at the Kenwood, and Eclipse units at those price levels. The Screen on the Eclipse is great while the Garmin Nav on the Kenwoods is Very rock solid!
It all comes down to whatever you want to spend, but for me if I go for things I go all the way!
TitaniumEvo 09-09-2009, 02:08 PM subscribed...i've been looking to install the magden unit for gauges, but obviously cannot without bypassing OEM aux in motion.

Rogue 09-09-2009, 02:44 PM Boost saves that sounds good. I was also interested in this unit: ECLIPSEŽ AVN-726E
Can I play music while looking at my gauges with this? And also will the alarm function still work?

That's a good unit.
I dunno about that ability with the eclipse. On the pioneer I know I can do it. As long as it can overstep the video input audio with iPod audio.
Rogue 09-10-2009, 06:00 PM Ok so far I have:
ECLIPSEŽ AVN-726E - Somewhat verified that AUX in motion will not play with radio or Nav in background.
X910BT
z110BT
Does anyone want to throw something else in there?
spainer80 09-14-2009, 04:38 PM Just purchased my X and I already want more out of the stock navi. Will the Pioneer display any engine info? If so, how? Do all the steering functions still work? Thanks!
boostsaves 09-14-2009, 04:59 PM Just purchased my X and I already want more out of the stock navi. Will the Pioneer display any engine info? If so, how? Do all the steering functions still work? Thanks!
The pioneer it's self will not display any engine stuff. You will need a system like the hks camp2.
To keep your steeringwheel controls you will need the PAC swi for the type of head unit.
kenpo1441 09-14-2009, 05:41 PM Is it true that the AVIC is not as customizable as the previous versions? I am really interested because I am want to hook up a magden unit. I have friend with an older AVIC and he was saying that people on the AVIC forum are upset due the inability to customize. Interested on what your thoughts are, as you have had first had experience with the newer unit.

False.
Boot the unit into the os, and mod to your hearts content. I would make backups of everything, and be careful since I would not want to brick a very expensive unit.
Check out avic 411 for more info.
spainer80 09-25-2009, 01:59 PM I have a question. How are you controlling all the security functions? For example, headlights, door locks, alarm set points, things of that nature?
Rogue 09-25-2009, 02:01 PM You cant...
I i think you can only reach the security function if you have the NAV.... I do not think i was able to reach it with the standard headunit... When I had the factory nav i could.
Rogue 09-27-2009, 02:10 AM Did you get your system up and running yet?
I just got everything done today.. I just need to remove my rear bumper and mount my camera....
I wonder if there is a way to hack the AV2 input so that I can make it be like the nav or rearview camera and still play what ever music i have on (Ipod, FM, AM, etc).
boostsaves 09-27-2009, 05:48 AM No, I have not got anything installed. I am still waiting on all of my stereo equipment to come in the mail. After that I have to order all the HKS stuff, and wait for that to come in the mail lol. I'll keep you updated when I go to install all the stereo stuff.
Nice, congrats man. I saw over on "M" that you were having problems with your SWI PS. Did you ever get it setup properly?
The audio still should work from another source while on the camp 2 screen. I think there is even a picture diagram on this thread somewhere.
