: Post your insurance
Meero 01-12-2008, 03:54 AM When I purchase my Evo, I can only imagine my insurance bill. Can you guys gimme a heads up on what to expect? For those of you who've had Evos in the past, what where your average payments? I know that it will very depending on coverage and driving records b4 you guys start to gimme an beginner's course!
DSMissed 01-12-2008, 03:29 PM First off, if you are a guy under 25...it will be quite a bit. How old are you?
dmx88227 01-12-2008, 03:37 PM i think this is like the 5Th thread on Insurance 4 the Evo......
Meero 01-12-2008, 04:02 PM I'm 27. By the way I've only been here since early Dec. I just didn't see any other threads about this topic and it seems pretty fitting since the Evo is about to be released this month, I figured most of you buying could help a brother out
DSMissed 01-12-2008, 04:23 PM Ya, there are a couple other threads about it already. From what I've seen most people pay around $150-$200 a month, depending on where they live and discounts.
Meero 01-12-2008, 04:30 PM OK. See, I'd figured it would be more, I live in Oregon. I looked at other postings with good info, but few actual rates. I want the nitty-gritty! Flat out, Blls to the wall, what are ppl actually paying? Thats what this thread is about!! :theeye:
DSMissed 01-12-2008, 04:38 PM I got a quote on Geico just for fun, and it quoted me payments of $647 a month! I know that isn't right, but wow!
Meero 01-12-2008, 04:43 PM see thats what i meant!!:(
_Chris_ 01-12-2008, 06:58 PM I got a quote on Geico just for fun, and it quoted me payments of $647 a month! I know that isn't right, but wow!
No way!
I have an SRT-4 and a Pacifica. I pay 116/month for both.
DSMissed 01-12-2008, 07:12 PM Yeah, full coverage on my Cobalt and liability on my Talon comes to $130 a month....so I know that can't be right. Screw Gieco!!!
zenmaster 01-12-2008, 08:39 PM I got a quote on Geico just for fun, and it quoted me payments of $647 a month! I know that isn't right, but wow!
what kinda coverage and liability did u choose? Full?
DSMissed 01-12-2008, 09:16 PM $500 collision, $500 comprehension, and I can't remember what else. Pretty much the minimum for full coverage.
silvreclipse 01-13-2008, 12:51 AM lets see i onw a charger, truck 3500hd my dads caliber. all full cover including the truck having a comercial insurance and that comes out to be 315 a month i,m 25.
redmachine 01-13-2008, 04:55 AM im in nyc and got quoted for $1349 for 6 months if i paid up front---and thats ballpark figure cuz they had to use the evo9 as they didnt have the evo X in the system yet
Meero 01-13-2008, 06:17 AM $225 is a bit steep. Hopefully 2008 will help clean up my driving record. I wanna be able to keep it under $200....I also gotta put my right foot on a diet so that when I get the EVO I can control myself :godance::rock::godance::rock::godance:
Wow, you guys pay alot in the US. I pay about $700 USD a year for full coverage (theft & all collisions) in Japan. That price is including my 48% discount (for being accident free) but still, that doesn't compare to what you all pay there.
Kooldino 01-13-2008, 11:49 PM Suggestion - for an extra few bucks, get yourself $100 deductible for comprehensive.
MEVOX 01-14-2008, 12:21 AM '08 Lancer GTS and Scion XA RS1 full coverage on both $500 deductible, $160/month from AIG, with 1 point on my record.
TRUSTcompany9000 01-14-2008, 08:21 PM I'm a young guy, 22, with a clean driving record (last ticket was when I was 17) and I've been consistantly quoted right around $300 a month. It's a small price to pay though for the Evo =p
Rosshole 01-14-2008, 09:15 PM Suggestion - for an extra few bucks, get yourself $100 deductible for comprehensive.
being in the insurance industry, I couldn't agree more with this statement.
_Chris_ 02-01-2008, 07:49 PM :bump: New owners, what are your rates?
nasty n8 02-01-2008, 08:07 PM I believe the rate for the evo X is the same as the IX because there is no insurance data on the X yet. Give it a year and that will change.
As for me, I'm 24 with no accidents and a speeding ticket. I have full coverage on my evo IX with $500 deductibles for $148/month...my 03 corolla is half of that, haha.
AKYap 02-01-2008, 08:17 PM 26, male, single, home owner, 1 speeding ticket in '04 and the best quote i got was $115 a month on my new X with full coverage, $500 deductables.
PDXEvo 02-01-2008, 08:40 PM 32, male, married, home owner, no tickets/wrecks paying $127/mo which covers both my car and my wifes Prius with $500 deductibles and 300/300 coverage.
Kooldino 02-01-2008, 09:03 PM So the average is looking like 130ish
jApOrMs 02-01-2008, 11:19 PM $90 a month
Dan203 02-02-2008, 12:07 AM I punched a 2008 Lancer Evo into Progressive.com and it looks like my insurances is going to go from about $365 every 6 months to just over $600 every 6 months, so about $100 a month for me. (Pretty much what I expected)
Dan
DirectorSe7en 02-02-2008, 12:17 AM $350 a month for my VIII with 5 speeding tickets :(
TRUSTcompany9000 02-02-2008, 12:23 AM 22 single with a clean driving record is running me $225 >.<
Archangel621 02-02-2008, 12:41 AM 22 single with a clean driving record is running me $225 >.<

Thuan 02-02-2008, 04:25 AM $250collision, $250 comprehension 32 male $410 for 6month on EVO-X And i live in the city, Minneapolis/St. Paul is not farm Country
$500 collision, $500 comprehension on EVO 8 is $ 476 6 month. Allstate Insurance
I was told by the insurance guy My X is cheaper because it has all the new safty stuff. He punch in my Vin, and it called out the right car and everything.
Dan203 02-02-2008, 07:42 AM When I originally put an Evo X into Progressive.com a few months ago it said my insurance wouldn't change at all. However they must have updated or somethign cause I checked last night and now it goes up quite a bit. (although I do have a speeding ticket on my record, so maybe fast car + speeding ticket = higher premiums)
Dan
PDXEvo 02-02-2008, 05:35 PM My insurance looks like it may go up as well from my initial quote. I asked why and Farmers told me this:
"Its due to the Mitsubishi parts costs being so high." I quickly responded with:
"I didnt buy a BMW."
silvreclipse 02-02-2008, 09:35 PM $90 a month
damn thats low.
DirectorSe7en 02-02-2008, 10:38 PM First off, if you are a guy under 25...it will be quite a bit. How old are you?
Why do you say "guy"? Is it cheaper for women?
dmx88227 02-03-2008, 12:39 AM Why do you say "guy"? Is it cheaper for women?
i read somewhere that for women its cheaper because insurance companies see it as that women would be to scared too rip it on the highway therefore sayin that men would be more likly to drive wreckless and possibly cause an accident... even though (no offense to women) some women drive as good as a blind guy would and cause accidents all the time
Dan203 02-03-2008, 12:47 AM Actually they charge guys under 25 more because statistically young men get in and/or cause more accidents then any other drivers. There is a lot of data to support this, it's not just based on some theory about guys being more reckless.
Dan
DirectorSe7en 02-03-2008, 02:05 AM 22 single with a clean driving record is running me $225 >.<
Lucky......
dmx88227 02-04-2008, 06:06 AM well iam sure those young men probably werent driving 54 on a 55 more like105 on a 55
kakasensei 02-04-2008, 07:27 AM helen keller much? i dunno about that i live in cali and wow the women here cant drive for beans like its freeway and their going like 55 on a 65 zone just slowing everyone down. people dont get into car accidents from speeding, they get into car accidents from swerving. aka driving behind a woman !!
dmx88227 02-04-2008, 09:57 PM helen keller much? i dunno about that i live in cali and wow the women here cant drive for beans like its freeway and their going like 55 on a 65 zone just slowing everyone down. people dont get into car accidents from speeding, they get into car accidents from swerving. aka driving behind a woman !!
ur right iam just sayin that the few guys that probably wrecked their cars made the insurance ppl thinnk that it was cuz they was driving reckeless trust me i hate switchin lanes fast and then having to hit the brakes cuz the lady in front of me driving with the steering wheel on her boobs is goin slow as hell

ah ha... military insurance.
Malves85 03-12-2008, 12:48 AM Just got a quote from State Farm
23, not married, College Grad, Work full time and live at home(for now)
$825.49 for 6 months. $137.58 per month
Lil side note: also requested a quote for the new bmw 135i and got a quote for the 735i. Guess its not in their systems yet and confused them :-P The quote for that was $713. I dont know bmw that well but a 7 serious has to have some real serious power. How is that less then an evo. Even if they did infact mean 135i I thought it would be more then the evo being a coupe and rwd plus a lil more hp.
lwevert 03-12-2008, 01:43 AM 24, married, Evo X and '07 Ion Redline full coverage $250 deductibles for $109 a month through USAA. I love military banks.
