Most tracks (i think) abiding by NHRA require roll cages once a vehicle becomes sub 11.9.

Anyone know how many points are required for that roll cage?

6 i think. dont keep up with nhra or drag racing much though.

11.50+ doesn't need anything. Its 10.00-11.49 needs a roll bar which in most cases is considered a "6 point" bar.

You should consult the rule book for the sanctioning body you plan to compete in. It will also specify tube diameter, thickness, material, etc. in addition to how many and where the mounting points must be.

diff tracks have diff rules. I know mine you have to have a 6point once you hit 11.9 but if your running around 11.4-12's when doing test and tune days, then you should be fine with out one!

Then your track is out of date. NHRA changed their rules to 11.49. I imagine that rule will get moved again to 10.99 soon.

At HRP its 11.5 for a cage, with the exception of certain special events. For example, at the last IFO (Import Face Off), they were letting the FIS class break without kicking them out for some reason. As a result, the two finalists (in the class) were both Evo's. MDR's Banana car won the final with an evo 9.

Got kicked out of VMP on an 11.46 @ 125 (11.46@ 125)mph. They are NHRA and it is 11.49 to 10.00 6 points of retention required.
