Does anyone know if xtremeboost went out of business or anything?
Ive been trying to get ahold of him for several weeks to no avail, and today when i called it said the line had been disconnected.

Story: I bought a 02 dp from frank about two months ago. When i received the dp i realized that he had forgot to weld on an 02 sensor bung. He refunded me a fair amount so i could pay to have a bung welded on locally. He also told me he would send me a manifold heatshield free of charge for my troubles and time wasted having the dp fixed.
I saw this as a fair response to his mistake. The money was refunded back into my account the next day and i installed the product which i have had no problems with to date.

However, i tried to contact Frank numerous times to find out when the heatshield would be shipped out. Every time i called he said it would be sent out tomorrow or by the end of the week, etc. This continued for probably about a month or so. Considering this part was for free, i was lenient with the delays but none the less it was part of our refund deal. I have called him every couple days for the past month or so and not gotten an answer in several weeks. The phone rings and goes to voice mail no matter what day of the week or time of day i call. When i tried calling today, there was a message saying the line had been disconnected.

My stock heatshield rattles and makes a squeaking noise on the dp, so i have been patiently waiting for the xtremeboost heatshield to fix my problem. I know the heatshield was free, but as part of our agreement, i still think its fair that i recieve the part. Just trying to figure out if anyone knows what happened to xtremeboost or if he is just mia.

Sorry for the long post
Brendan

I wouldnt hold your breath on the heat shield. I mean if you stock one rattles then what makes you think another stock one isnt going to? I know you said that it was part of the deal but he hasnt posted on here for a long time. You may just want to modify your stocker to not rattle

Frank has been really busy with some things lately. I'm sure he will be back on here soon.

Like all the above have said, don't count on it. I have been waiting for him to fix my downpipe since April.

Frank is moving shops (again) to North Carolina, last I spoke to him.

He's been behind here as a merchant, so we decided to give him some time off for awhile until he gets caught up on things. He'll probably be tough to reach for the next month or so.

Ive been talking to Frank, and this is pretty much what he told me also.

to the OP, your stock heat shield is made of a thin metal. Is it rubbing against the Xtremeboost o2/dp? Due to it being made of a thin metal, you can easily bend/twist the stock heat shield just enough to stop the noise.

I refuse to take off my strut tower bar, everytime I work back there so my heat shield is kinda mangled from pulling it in and out.

thanks for the responses guys.
i would like the heatshield for several reasons...

1. Ive bent my stock one as much as i could and it still comes in contact with the xtremeboost dp. I could always cut it with some clippers or something but due to where the heashield is rubbing i would probably have to cut away half the heatshield. (could probably be done but i would obviously just prefer a redesigned one that is made to work with the xb dp)

2. The manifold/turbo area is rather bland right now, a powdercoated black heashield like Frank promised me would probably look much nicer, and probably add a little flare to the engine bay.

3. Whether or not there would be a significant improvement over the stock one, Frank said the heatshield would do a superior job keeping the manifold heat away from the uicp. So a little function and a little aesthetics.

last i talked to him he said it had been powdercoated and was ready to be sent out. Dont know if that was bs or what but maybe if he relocates in NC i can get ahold of him and see if he still plans on following through.

Either way, Thanks for the help guys. A heatshield isnt the end of the world, i just wanted to see if anyone had heard what was going on.
