wth, sst only? hopefully not true. also, it has a sunroof in the pics
Kooldino 01-13-2008, 11:30 PM Yeah, I read that they were going SST only on this before as well, which kinda sucks...and doesn't make sense considering it costs more than the 5MT. I like the car though, and the rust color paint is bold (however, not for me).
If we were making a list of things to do before dying, owning a Lancer Evolution (http://www.edmunds.com/il/mitsubishi/evox/index.html) would be in the top 50, if not the top 10. For those who can't afford to spend $35,000, we would have previously advised curling up in the fetal position with a PS2 and a copy of Gran Turismo 4. Now, however, we can suggest the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart, which looks to be a legitimate Evo Lite.
EzeE1o 01-13-2008, 11:34 PM sad to say, but if it is really sst only, that is a deal breaker for me
Jackygor 01-14-2008, 12:57 AM I think Mitsubishi is trying make the ralliart hard to mod, providing only SST, so it won't eat into Evo's sales.
Chader 01-14-2008, 01:08 AM I'm just noob here, but I am guessing they are trying to amortize the cost of the tranny (tooling and such) by trying to sell higher quantities in a more affordable package. The mod preventions seems likely too.
silvreclipse 01-14-2008, 01:14 AM i think it may sell but not in volume.
shadowsong6 01-14-2008, 01:47 AM I'm in. It seems like a few days ago before all this info was released I was thinking "there is no way in hell I'll be able to afford an MR" looks like this is a message from the rally gods....lol
sst.....check
navi.....check
4b11t....check
awd....check
mine?.....oh you better belive its getting a check
:thumbup::rock:
EzeE1o 01-14-2008, 05:21 AM im pretty sure the sst would have outsold the manual anyway....just that by potentially not offering a manual would loose sales to people (like me) who wont settle for the sst

You may just have to wait a year and get a second hand X...

while that sounds like a good idea,
1) im not too thrilled to get a used performance car
2) id want folding rear seats for snowboarding (assuming the RA has folding seats)

Agree, I would not get an SST, nor a second hand (more-likely-than-not) roughed up X either....
ShahulX 01-27-2008, 06:00 PM this would be a great daily driver car with the SST.... you must realize alot of perfoamnce cars are going this way... the comparos on the MR and STiare very much for the evo's SST.... the GTR I have on order comes only in dual clutch auto-manual
Meero 01-27-2008, 06:05 PM I'd still rather have a manual trans instead of paddle shifter!
ShahulX 01-27-2008, 06:14 PM i understand that... i just think cars are getting faster with the dual clutcha nd electronic shifting... but I agree a manual is more fun.... but its the 5 speed i'll have the pass anyways.... i loved my evo8 but having no 6th gear and a taller 5th made it a bit tiresome on the hwys....
