: Delayed delivery....
TRUSTcompany9000 01-14-2008, 08:18 PM So we finally got the pricing on the Evo X which was awesome because I was finally able to get my loan situated and whatnot. So I went to my dealership, check in hand ready to get it on Saturday, when it was supposed to be delivered, and to my heartbreaking disbelief, I come to find out that delivery on the car had been delayed until the 19th :wtfsign:

Tvall13 01-14-2008, 08:31 PM Same thing happened to me. Mine was supposed to come in tomorrow the 15th but I just talked to my buddy who works there and he said it might not be till Feb. now.
_Chris_ 01-14-2008, 09:00 PM At least you guys arent opting for the MR.
The Rockstar 01-14-2008, 09:31 PM Ya isn't the MR coming out in March or April?
Tvall13 01-14-2008, 09:34 PM Yeah that would be a killer wait. I still don't understand why they decided to release the Evo in the middle of winter. I know its AWD but its still a sports car at heart, I mean Advans aren't exactly the best choice of all weather tires.
EvoXCrazy 01-14-2008, 09:39 PM Prob cause suby release the sti.
The A/C Guy 01-14-2008, 09:52 PM yea i had the same problem he said it had something to do with the European market being in a higher demand or something, but he told me it would be in around feb 2nd
Tvall13 01-14-2008, 10:42 PM Good stuff I was hoping it wasn't gonna be late Feb. I don't know if I'd be able to wait that long. The wait is getting tough, especially after the new performance numbers came out from Edmunds.com. Thank god its 0-60 time isn't 5.4 like Motor Trend initially thought.
cksdayoff 01-14-2008, 11:33 PM chris and i, and some others are sad pandas compared to you guys.
LowUFO 01-15-2008, 12:00 AM I was a sad Panda, but then I went over to the happy Panda side and changed my order to a Phantom Black GSR and I'm told it will be in mid Feb or so..:happy Panda dance:
EVOXGSR 01-15-2008, 12:07 AM I'm in the same boat, I was told the 15th of Jan, then it got pushed back. My dealer also said that the expected delivery date is now the 2nd of Feb. So, at least the info from the different dealers is accurate, for what it's worth. How are you guys equiping your's? Mine's coming in with all 3 main options...SSS, AERO, AND NAV. $6000.00 for the three options! What a rip! That puts the car's total at 39,615 before taxes! 33,000 base + 615 destination, + 2000 for each of the 3 options. Ughh, that's more than I wanted to spend on the car, but I want it bad enough to overlook it. It's funny, this car has taken me on an emotional roller coaster. For starters, there were the first tests (with an unhealthy ecu) showing unpromissing straight line results, to the "faster than the 9 around the track" crap, which best motoring proved to be a lie, to the newfound performance shown by edmunds with a closer to production version with all the kinks worked out, etc. I went from saying, "well, the handling and braking are better, power can be added later, and the styling is finally appealing..." to, "this is bullshit! I am not paying 40k for a sports car that does 0-60 in 5.4!" I want it, then I have second thoughts, then I want it, then I have those second thoughts again. All the while trying to decide if I wanted to argue with the sales manager about getting my deposit back. But, I never lost all faith, and here I am, 100% decided on getting it and glad that I kept my order and left my deposit at the dealer. God, this car better be all that it's cracked up to be. 43k after taxes, and It doesn't even come with leather, or even have it as an option. This is one thing that will probably always urk me, but as they say, "you can't have your cake and eat it too," right?
LowUFO 01-15-2008, 12:19 AM Hey, if they release Canadian pricing and it is more costly than the STi, then I'm gonna go and argue w my sales guy and get my deposit back. Except there won't be much arguing. I'll be doing the talking and they'll be doing the check writing..

wise decision, my preference for the SST is subsiding little by little as of right now, but my gut instinct tells me to stick with it
EVOXGSR 01-15-2008, 03:08 AM Keep in mind that if you plan on doing any mods to the car that the sst doesn't have the torque capacity that the 5 speed does, so it can be limiting unless you plan on leaving the car stock. This was stated in one of the reviews by the mitsu reps on site, so it is fact, not speculation. The sst is for those who want a technologically advanced solution to combine the benefits of a manual without the hassle of operating a clutch. It is not designed for big power or hard launches like a stick, just be aware.
^Yeah I agree - the MR is a technological marvel, but since the SST can only hold 347 ft/lbs... you won't be modding much other than a muffler and tune.
But if you're satisfied with stock power it's brilliant.
