wickedchimp 01-17-2008, 06:38 PM THEY HAVE LANDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just saw on the "hater" forum that there was a dealership in AZ that took delivery of one today. He has a picture of it on the lot.

_Chris_ 01-17-2008, 09:32 PM needz moar window tint.
:+1:
That Grey is HAWT!
So I guess the US model doesn't have factory tint like the JDM Evo.
silvreclipse 01-17-2008, 10:46 PM cool thats awesome they are here. tint can be dealt with quick besides most dealers do weak tint.
HRCboy 01-17-2008, 11:36 PM Looks awesome... wish it was priced better in Canada.
Kooldino 01-18-2008, 02:28 AM Awesome! Looks sharp. I'm excited to see these "on the street"
EVOXCO 01-18-2008, 04:19 PM Has anyone on here seen one on the streets yet?
NurSpec 01-18-2008, 04:38 PM I took that pic:harhar:
EVOXCO 01-18-2008, 04:53 PM I took that pic:harhar:
Is that car sold by now I bet. Did you see a price on it?
The Rockstar 01-18-2008, 05:04 PM anyone know when to east cost will get theirs cuz im in fl and im starting to get a little inpatient =)
I live in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and the dealerships here said Feb. 15th for both models.
NurSpec 01-18-2008, 05:07 PM I will drive by there on my lunch break to see if it has sold yet. It was around 34,9ish
EVOXGSR 01-20-2008, 12:17 AM I have one question. There is a dealership in cali that I talked to and they have 13 evo x's in stock as of yesterday. Are the evos sent to cali equiped with power robbing emissions equipment that isn't required in other states? Are they tuned differently than an evo sent to say atlanta, where we have 93 octane as opposed to that 91 crap out in california? Anyone have any info? BTW, if you are looking for an evo x, talk to peter at Norco mitsubishi, he's the evo specialist there, and a great guy.
_Chris_ 01-20-2008, 01:11 PM ^ I believe they're all comfigured alike.
silvreclipse 01-20-2008, 07:02 PM Has anyone on here seen one on the streets yet?
no not yet only a poser lancer.the ones i'm startig to are the sti's
Werewolf17 01-21-2008, 06:10 PM Dealers here in NJ are trying to add on 5k to the MSRP, as if 35k with SSS package wasn't enough. ETA is Feb 1st, apparently they are landing at the ports in Baltimore any day now. I have seen only 2 lancers GTS on the road since launch day. Dealers would be wise not to overprice these things, Mitsubishi would be wiser not to let them inflate the prices in the first place. And they wonder why they aren't doing well here in the US? :wtfsign:
Anyone who pays 5k over MSRP for a Mitsubishi is either wealthy or stupid (or both)
I need a new ride within 6 weeks (my lease is up) and if dealers hassle me too much, there's a good chance Mitsu missed out on at least one sale.
Samxini 01-21-2008, 06:38 PM Aw man, I'm in Arizona.
I hope I start seeing them drive around town now.
If I see one I'll be sure to take some pics, mabye talk to the guy if I can. =p
EzeE1o 01-22-2008, 12:41 AM saw 4 of em at stevens creek mitsu here in san jose, ca (2 red, 1 blue, 1 white in the showroom)
looks REALLY good in person
all 4 had SSS and from what i saw they were not marked up. sat in the white one in the showroom, the clutch is lighter than i thought it would be, lighter than my current car. seats feel really good. trunk space is really small.
the salesdude who "helped" me didnt really know much, he said it was "a 2.2 liter turbo" but i didnt really feel like busting him out....i also asked him if an ipod adapter or an aux input was avail, and he said he didnt know. i also asked him when they got them in, and he looked at me all confused. i asked him if they have sold many of them, and he looked at me confused. lol
he also asked which one i was interested in, i said either a white gsr or a RA when they are avail. he then says "i dont think we have ralliarts anymore" then i told him the newly announced one. he looked at me confused.
haha, either way i dont think i would buy from that dealer if they dont even know their product, understand simple questions, or know what new products are coming down the pipeline
BTW they had a black 9 MR in the used lot
GAmbrose 01-22-2008, 08:08 AM Dealers who don't know their own product annoy me, we're fairly informed on this forum because we're passionate about it and we can see through alot of the BS, but I feel sorry for people that rely on what they are being told by a salesman to make a decision about buying the right car.

TriStateEvo 01-22-2008, 02:57 PM Ez, it's amazing how many salespeople (not only Mitsubishi) know very little about their product. A simple visit to the 'Lancer Evolution Insider' could educate these kind of salespeople so they don't look foolish in front of customers.
I'd love to print it out for that particular salesperson and PIITB. At least then he'd have the product info 'in him'.
LowUFO 01-22-2008, 03:40 PM Haha! This is so true. We called a bunch of dealers before and after we put our deposit down and its amazing how many know so little. My GF refuses to talk to the sales guy where I have my deposit because she's sick asking him basic questions and his umming and awwing and constant offers of going to ask the sales manager. She's like "From now on, you're dealing w him." Haha!
EzeE1o 01-22-2008, 04:17 PM lol, i was really surprised about the ipod hookup question, i mean, i assume that its the same stereo system as a regular lancer, which has been out for quite some time now, and the fact that he said "i dont know" really made me laugh inside. i mean, dont say "i dont know", say something like "i can get that info for you"

Yeah, sounds like your typical ignorant dealer to me. That's why I deal with dealers like the ones on this forum...because they SPECIALIZE in the car, so things tend to go more smoothly.
silvreclipse 01-22-2008, 07:44 PM so true the last time i went to my local dealership and i knew more about the car the sales people there.only thing he told me was we are getting to types only base and fully loaded.wow they suck even at that they did not even know about the new tranny on the mr.
kakasensei 01-23-2008, 12:15 AM blue, grey, silver in stock wif all SSS but marked up like 3k coming to total of 38-39k
dmx88227 01-24-2008, 08:27 PM I just spoke with someone in Bell Mitsubishi in Rhaway, NJ and they told me that their getting 14 GSR's and 3 MR's the Sales guy told me that the GSR's are comin in "anytime now".

SoSuMi 01-25-2008, 01:17 AM Here in NE Ohio a few Evo's are expected to trickle in next month. One dealer said that he has one on the way and if I'm willing to shell out an extra 3 to 4k and bend over and kiss his ass, he'll consider selling it to me.
Like, yeah... right.
Next month I'll slobber on any Evo's at the Cleveland Car Show and try to find out if 1) you can mount a car rack on top and transport a kayak, and 2) find out if anyone is hungry enough to sell one (make that a manual, please) at or below list. If not I'll just wait out for another Audi with (hopefully) a diesel.
Dan203 01-26-2008, 08:09 AM Man I can't even get one of my local dealerships to take a deposit. I contacted my nearest dealer at least 6 times over the last 3 months and they never even called me back. I then contacted the next nearest (almost 100 miles away) and they called me right back, but said I couldn't actually put in an order, or even put my name on a wait list, until they had one in the showroom. :wtfsign:
I'm looking to get an MR with all the trimmings, and I hear there was a slight delay on the MR, so I may have to wait a little bit longer. However I've already waited a year so I can handle a few extra weeks.
Dan
1) you can mount a car rack on top and transport a kayak
Is this what you're looking for? This is a factory option on the JDM version. It doesn't specify "kayak" but it looks like it can handle it.

Thanks, nice find. A typical kayak weighs in at around 50 pounds and that rack certainly looks like it would do. I'm guessing then that either Yakima or Thule should have something that would do the trick. I asked a local Mitsu dealer if they would check out the roof top rack weight limits and, as you can guess, they will probably never call me back.
I live in the rust belt and many of the car dealers around here are getting anorexic from poor car sales. But try and talk about buying an Evo and they start expecting you to bow down.
At next month's Cleve car show I'll see how the car fits and perhaps go online to search one down. Just wish the gas mileage was a little better.
Dan203 01-27-2008, 06:32 AM Anyone seen an MR in stock anywhere? I contacted the salesman I talked to before and he says they have 3 GSRs in stock, but wont have an MR until late March or Early April.
Also can anyone confirm if all version of the car have California emissions? Or if there is a 48 state version like a lot of other cars? I'm in Nevada, so I'd rather not have the extra power robbing emissions equipment if it's not necessary. (however the second dealership is in CA, so I might have to if I can't get my local dealer to call me back :()

I think all Evo X are the same in the US, regardless of the state it is sold in. And yes, MR is delayed until around that time.
Meero 01-27-2008, 06:46 AM Dealers Here in Oregon, told me they're not selling any Evos without a 5K mark up minimum. .........PLus, I just went to the autoshow here in town, and there was no Mitsu display!!!! :wtfsign::wtfsign::wtfsign::wtfsign: I was SUPER PISSED:mad::mad:

But you aren't getting an Evo yet right? So it ll be alll gooddd
Dan203 01-27-2008, 06:59 AM I know the extra markup sucks, but I kind of expected it. With the amount of hype this car is currently getting they should have no problem selling the first few on their lot with the added markup.
Could be worse. At one point I was considering a Shelby Mustang. That is until the local dealer told me that they only get a few a year and that they typically sell for close to $80K even though they only have a $55K MSRP.
I'd rather not pay a $5K markup on the Evo, but I'll probably do it if they wont budge.

I got my EVO X on 01/21/08 from skyline and I didn't pay 3k over. If you are going to get on I can give you a name of a good sales person at Skyline.
