Ran with the DC Benz Club which is a very chill group even though the Advanced group had a few people who should really have been in a group below. Anyway, I took a few pics.

A few cars preparing to enter the pits.

A pair of E30 M3 track cars. I see these guys out a lot and I absolutely adore these cars.

A '69 Camaro with a 427. I love seeing old muscle being driven at the track. Unfortunately, he broke a pushrod on his second run of the day.

A CLK AMG Black. I had never seen one of these on the track.

My dream car, a 997 GT3 RS. It's good to see one used properly.

...And finally, my Evo.

I also took a terrible video with my GoPro. I'm very disappointed with it but I guess I can't complain for $199. I will mount it externally next time as you can't see or hear anything other than my brakes from the rear.

Even with the crappy video position, it still looks like a blast. I really need to get out for some HPDEs...

Quite a lineup of cars you were dealing with!

You should do it. The X is such a great HPDE car. Reliable, easy to drive, and fast.

Ouch. Taking a bike on the track always seemed scary to me. Sounds fun though.

As for the GoPro, I'll probably mount it on the roof.

How do you like the R888? And what size are you running.

They're a great tire, especially if you're lazy like me and drive them to and from the track instead of changing there. They're very grippy and don't seem to lose grip during a standard 20 - 30 minute session. They also have a very predictable release when at the limit and make noise when they're near the limit.

I run 265/35/18 on an 18x9.5 wheel.

I believe NASA has an event coming up next month at Thunderbolt.

Thunderbolt is the far more fascinating road course. Lightning is relatively simple and can be learned and driven relatively fast in an afternoon. Thunderbolt is far more complex.

That's correct for cars as well. I would far prefer to drive Thunderbolt of the two.

This track is only about 45 mins away from me, but I've yet to run it. I would have if my Evo didn't have this damn knock issue. Someday.
