Nah, I want people to be able to "try before they buy", so to speak. We have a great forum here, and if they read it, they're likely to sign up.

Also, FWIW, we do have a few things that are "blocked" to non-users. Any attachments and a few subforums won't show up unless you're logged in as a member.

yeah come on guys sign. i have seen a bunch of guests watching the forum.does not cost a thing to sign up and there are no reponsabilities.

I guess sometimes people are just shy? or inexperienced with forums?? Best to atleast give them a 'try before buy' option. Rather than considering enforcing login.

What about the search function? I found that most forums disable search for guests. That is usually what leads me to sign up to a forum.

We allow searches for non members, but it's a pain since you have to type in the CAPTCHA key.

Just wana put my 2cents in and say Congrats to the peeps who started this forum, my first experience was i PM'ed a moderator about something not working and they replied in a nice friendly manner and a few weeks later the problem was solved, very impressive.
Ive been with a local forum group for about 2 years, all talk about Subarus not much about the EvoX and thats when i found this site.
Personally i have learnt more about my EvoX here, than talking to my local dealer.
What made me sign up 2 years ago was an Introduction Thread they had, I posted Hi and what car i was driving and 2 days later i had 20 replies of Welcome Aboard, made ya feel really welcomed to something you never done before, anyway, just thought id share this with you coz its a nice "Ice Breaker Thread" if new to this.

Anyhow, Im not a great poster but theres alot of good crap to read here.
