Noticed that too. He seemed to drive it a bit more wildly though.

I think its the drivers because if you compare these test with other test like in edmunds they dont make sense correct me if iam wrong but didnt the evo beat the sti in braking on the edmunds test and acccording to this the STI beat the Evo

That was some damn fast shifting in the SST in the 1/4 I new it was suppose to be fast just never imagined it was that fast....It was faster then the STI with the professional...o_O!!

Also so there doesnt look to be much stall in the SST maybe somewhere in the 2K-2.5K range as estimated during earlier claim.

I wonder is USDM MR can pull off that number.

I rememeber reading a test drive where they put the car in Super Sports mode, held their foot on the brake, dialled the revs to 5,000 and let go of the brake. Not sure how good that is for the trasmission but they said it shot off like a rocket.

Thats how the launch control for SMG on an M3 works, Id guess it would be about the same. Dont know about the Evo but the M3 used to also have a secret launch control setting where you had to press certain buttons in sequence to get a race start setting

Too bad that STi motor never came to the states. Might have sold me. That was interesting that both X's were revving to about 8k too. I assume those were all stock cars? I've never seen an X get beat on a track by an STi or IX before either.

Which STI motor was it? Damm I can't believ the evo's got so worked.

Japanese Sti is 2.0, or at least it used to be when I last checked/

Where those motors better than the 2.5's we have here? Trying to understand LesterH's comment.

I know why, and I cannot find a good article ATM, so check this link: http://jalopnik.com/122194/subaru-introduces-2006-rally-homologation-impreza

The 2.5L was good for the American market in regards to grunt and torque, however not to the purist of rallying which relegates one to a 2 liter motor.

Obviously since the JDM 2.0 is faster than the Evo when the USDM 2.5 isnt. The Japanese get better motors year in and year out. Just once I would like to see JDM Corvettes, Camaros, and Mustangs come with shittier engines.

Just did some poking around the STI forums, I had no idea of this. Thanks:D
