Has anybody seen or heard of a 2010 evo being dynoed yet? There was that one magazine article that looked like the 2010 had new ecu mapping thus more power but im looking for confirmation. yeah it's a lil early but some guys are just crazy like that

HB Speed can you possibly post some dynos of 2010's???
the stories persist that the 2010's feel faster. could this be a case of more AUC (area under curve)?
and the factory rates peak torque at 4000 rpm, earlier than the 08's. is this reflected on the dynos?
thanks!!!

peak #'s may be the same, but maybe not the average?
My 2010 feels hella fast. I am taking it to the track tomorrow to see what it can do. Maybe that will speak to the "faster" thing.
Although I am kinda cheating cause I have an intake and cat back exhaust already.

According to Ivey my 2010 bone stock dynoed higher then 2008 models. Tuned they are very similar.

you can dyno 2 2008 evo x and they will come out different. maybe the 2010 is a bit leaner.

Part of the reason(s) for the increased 0-60 times (at least for the MR) have been due to a reprogramming of the ECU and/or SST (mentioned by Road and Track). If the SST was tuned for 2010 (entirely plausible since a) it has been two years since the 08s and b) the 08 MRs had service recall that needed reflashing probably served as insentive to update/change flat out improve the SST mapping) it seems to explain why and how reviews such as Road and Track (4.6 seconds to 60), jalopnik.com's owner provided 2010 MR Touring (4.9 seconds to 60) are all getting improved times without a necessary bump in power.

Beyond that who knows? I heard that peak torque now arrives at 4K instead of 4500 rpm, so maybe that AND retuned SST for 2010 account for the improvement. Whatever is the cause I am enjoying the car! :)

GSR or MR? Does torque peak around 4000 rpm? Hmmm...

True that!
Im sure the 2008's and 2010's are the same in every spec way!

So if the 2010 MR's are getting a remapped tranny... why cant they flash that to the 2008 MR's?

:yeahthat: i dont see why i cant go to the stealership and have them flash my 08 as a '10.possible?if so ill def have them do it next oil change

Let me know if you ask them/if they do it.

^^ I don't think that will work. 08's and 10's don't share the same AP programming so I doubt that will work.

i dont see why i cant go to the stealership and have them flash my 08 as a '10.possible? This assumes the dealerships have the binary images and tools to flash the gearbox computer(s).
I suspect they do not.
