sounded pretty sick to me, that resonated test pipe kinda keeps it subtle but i like that, Im gettin my agency power cat-back tomorrow but have ordered test and down pipes yet.

well down here its fine. Some parts of houston can have pretty crappy roads, but for the most part, no problems at all. Plus looks alot better without the huge fender gap.

I got them at mcginins I-10 and dairy ashford... They work good... About mod friiendly idk cuz i dont have any... just a drop in air filter so...

they gave me a verbal warning that the next time i bring my car in modded, they will charge me a service fee and void my warranty. That was when i brought my car in for a maf replacement.

Yeah I have a test pipe but they have never said anything to me, but I haven't gone for warranty work just recalls so maybe that's why. Today I went to McGinnis for a loose fog light and they didn't say anything either.

Forgot to mention that Hub was the only one that said anything about my mods and it was my K&N filter that they warned me about. It was the only mod I had then.

Yesterdays Planet Zero meet was insane. There were soo many people there, and so many cool cars. It was really nice to see that many evos (more than just me and itznora) in one place. Mike needs to get the vii buffed out. That car could be so bad ass.

I think we can official claim aaron as the fastest stock turbo evo x in houston. He is amazingly fast. His #s are pretty good. Not to far behind from me. sort of... if i raced him one gear higher on a 40 roll. =P

That's good to hear! I went today to get a wideband and mbc installed for thursday's tune! David and Mike did a great job and were very friendly!

So, today i called HUB Mitsubishi and asked to be connected to the service department. I told the person i was speaking to that im calling to enquire about getting the recalls done and at first the person i was speaking with didn't know about any recall for the evo x till i explained about the recall. He said it would take a day to get this done.... Has anyone gone to HUB Mitsubishi for this?

I finally found someone who works at a Mitsu dealer to buy the damn recall kit for me, and the fuel pump relay. Took me about an hour to install the recall kit. I don't want any of the Houston Mitsubishi dealers poking around under my hood, looking for reasons to void my warranty.

If anyone cares, the kit and relay together were 58 bucks. Not sure how much of that was relay, and how much was kit. I didn't ask.

MDR's done numerous Evo X clutches, as well as master cylinder installs. I can't remember what they charge for an X clutch, but I know they flat rate it. Hourly the labor costs about the same as any other car, its just that some of the jobs take more hours than on other cars. This doesn't even count the cost of fixing what gets screwed up if you take it to a shop that doesn't know what they are doing.

^^ ya access zero is once a month and one of the best meets IMO, there were about 5 X's. but ya we should organize another one and maybe keep it like every other week. Look on houston-importsdotcom, there a few meets posted there.

Sup guys, whats going on? Any recommendations on an alignment shop? what specs are you just aligned to? Im thinkin around -1 and 0 toe front and rear.. car is for daily use, let me know what you guys think and what you guys are running! BTW, does anyone hit up the drag strip in bay town?

Bay Town can be very frustrating on Friday nights. They can take forever to get the track cleaned up after an incident. On top of that, there is always the random idiot who can't seem to figure out how to slow his civic down in time for the sand trap at the end.

Ben Bruce memorial race park north of Vidor is much better, though its a bit more of a drive. They open for test and tune on Saturdays around 10am. I literally did 8 passes in a 30 minute span while doing launch testing on my MR.

Depending on your location, Northwest Chassis is a very good alignment shop. They are on the NW side of town. Factory specs work pretty good for a street alignment if you run 37psi in your tires. I'm not exactly sure why, but they seem to be resistant to tread cupping when set up this way on the street, allowing the tires to last much longer.

Im in the Clear Lake area and I was wondering if the GSR is a good daily driver in Houston.
Also are there alot of shops in the area that know how to work on the evo correctly and are reasonably priced I really wasn't to impressed by the dealership when I went to test drive the MR.

The MR is more suitable for DD but the GSR is also good. Houston has a few good shops for the evo (i live'd there for a while) and DD my GSR. SSP is about to open a shop in texas...take ur evo there if you end up getting one http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45919&highlight=texas

Sup evo-bros.. I know a few guys in the TXIC community trying to set up an AWD, Turbo monthly meet, something new to the Houston community. The meets will be held on the first Saturday of every month. The first meet will be on Saturday, Dec. 3rd, around 8:00 P.M. There is no set location at the moment. Come out, chill and support the scene! Lets get this thing going! :rock:
