So the break in period for the evo x is:
200 miles for tires. (don't push them)
600 miles for engine. (keep it below 5k, don't drive for long periods)
I've seen a couple posts about racing, and of course track reviews, and dyno's.
Are you all breaking in your engine? I'm dying to see what my car can do, but I've been following the guidelines pretty closely.

drove nicely except i drove mine from Socal to Norcal (400 miles of hwy) so it's already broken in. Changed the Oil at 600 miles to full synthetic because the factory oil is not synthetic for helping the seals during breakin. Got a few free baseline dynos setup for Saturday and early next week.

i think the break-in period is the first 1000 miles.
i'd be very cautious and go for 1000 miles to break in the engine and not 600

When I got my SRT-4, at 300 miles I was at the track. 27,000 miles later, the car still runs great (with over 150 + runs down the dragstrip).

Yes and let us know if there's any change in power/behaviour after that 1st 600 miles as per the other thread regarding speculation of an ecu built in program that limits power for the 1st 600 miles.....

Ive heard always in a small dose or instance in the first 30 miles that the engine can take the abuse helps everything set but after that it needs the babying for the recommended time

Oil changed after the first 1500 miles.

that is interesting stuff.

i've read about this before but it seems risky, still interesting stuff.
